Allegiant does not sound like a good deal at all. $35 for a checked bag, and $25 for Your Own Carryon. You are allowed to bring a personal item (purse, laptop, etc) for no charge, but it has to fit under your seat.

Check out all the other fees. Buyer beware.

I just booked our flight from San Jose CA to Kauai for $111 plus fees for a total of $274 per person round trip. That’s $549 ROUND TRIP FOR 2. TOTAL. On Hawaiin Air. I’m a happy camper. :-)

I wish it could service L.A. and also be up until mid or up until June for my sister graduation to bring my family to celebrate.

As more and more travelers rely on social media to find sale fares, flights can sell out within minutes after a blog post is published. If there is a better blog on airfare discounts to Hawaii than “Beat of Hawaii”, I have yet to find it. The writers do check their facts, and their content is quite accurate. When airlines have a sale fare, unfortunately that doesn’t mean all of the seats on the plane are offered at the discount rate.
Keep in mind that travelers can cancel their reservations within 24 hours and get a refund. Thus seats on flights that were sold out at the discounted rates can and do open up. The airline can also add more seats at discount levels at anytime.

We must book by Oct 31. When I tried to book departing from Spokane the offer doesn’t come up. Can you help me?

    • Beat of Hawaii (2 years ago)

      Hi Connie.

From Spokane only two dates are still available at that price, February 8 outbound and April 13 return.

This offer has already been up for two and a half days, and we did recommended (above) acting quickly: “Suggest booking sooner for best price and date choices, as these may sell out sooner.”

Absolutely hate Allegiant Air. This is not just “super” economy, it appears a great deal and then loaded with fees. There is a fee to carry on your own bag for Pete’s sake! Counter people are often overworked and rude and the lines are long. Will never fly them again.

Hello, has anyone experienced Allegiant Air? There are 3 reviews on Yelp in the Honolulu area and it’s bad! And what is up with all of their fees?

    • Beat of Hawaii (2 years ago)

      Hi Jill.

Allegiant is unique. It is ultra-economy, so in some sense you get what you pay for. Their approach is a la carte, and therein the fees. Having said that, they are a very sharp company, and are definitely up and coming here in Hawaii with 10 new routes just this year. If you give them a try please let us know of your experience.

I checked the Fresno fares and found all kinds of $99 flights. Bob, you must have had the search set to flight + hotel. However, I found only $139 flights from Phoenix. Still an awesome deal though.

This promo is not accurate. I tried to book the trip from FAT to HNL and the cost was 1800 + dlls not 400 for two people. Please check your facts. The promo doesn’t exclude travel during Thanksgiving week, but it must. Thought you should know.

    • Beat of Hawaii (2 years ago)

      Hi Bob.

Sorry it didn’t work out for you. This sale from Allegiant is widely available throughout the offer period. From Fresno to Honolulu, only one flight in November is not being offered at $99.
