AA Matches or Beats UAL Hawaii Airfare Sale

This has been quite a day for Hawaii airfare deals, and it isn’t done quite yet. In the last hour or so, American Airlines has said “enough” to the best United Hawaii deal we’ve seen in three to four years.

American’s intentions haven’t become quite clear yet, and this may either expand further or stop here. What I’ve found is that in the markets below,  AA has lots of availability and is in most cases meeting or beating the UAL sale price.

The deal currently includes the following American Airlines routes to/from Hawaii with travel dates from early September through March 2012. I’ll check back later and add any routes that become available .

Chicago

  • Maui $197 each way, $467 round-trip, all inclusive
  • Kona or Lihue $222 each way, $518 round trip, all inclusive

Dallas

  • Honolulu$211 each way, $471 round-trip, all inclusive
  • Maui $215 each way, $479 round-trip, all inclusive
  • Kona or Lihue $218 each way, $496 round trip, all inclusive

New York

  • Honolulu $223 each way, $522 round-trip, all inclusive
  • Maui $226 each way, $529 round-trip, all inclusive
  • Kona or Lihue $229 each way, $535 round trip, all inclusive

Update: Los Angeles, Kansas City and Miami just added at press time!

  1. Thanks for the heads up! We just now booked our next trip to Hawaii for January 2012.

    Delta
    Huntsville, Alabama to Kona
    Lihue to Huntsville, Alabama
    $582 per person all-inclusive

Now we have about 6 months to find decent inter-island fares!

    Thanks again,

    John & June

  2. Booked Grand Junction, Colorado to Kona r/t $510. Amazing price from this small western Colorado town. “THANK YOU” for the alert on this!!!

    1. Aloha to our readers,

I’m happy to learn that many Hawaii fans had their dream of reasonably priced airfares fulfilled today.

These deals were a big surprise even to me, and as you know I follow these probably more closely than anyone. I know that West Coasters feel a little left out. Who knows, perhaps their deals will arrive soon as well.

      Best wishes,

      Jeff
