New Hawaii Flights

American New Hawaii Flights: Dallas | Upgrades: LA and Phoenix

We are always excited to see airlines add new Hawaii flights and especially when it is one of the legacy carriers. More flights result in better deals overall.

Over the past years, legacy airlines like American have taken a back seat to Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines, as those companies ramped up their direct-to-island competitive services. This new service will come at about the same time as carriers start to take delivery of their new Hawaii fleets, enabling more flights from more mainland cities starting early in 2018. Stay tuned for more on that soon.

The new American Airlines flights being added effective December 15, 2017 are as follows:

Dallas to Lihue Nonstop

– Daily from December 15, 2017 through January 7, 2018 and February 15 through April 2, 2018.

– Operated on 767-300 aircraft

– Could be extended depending on how successful it is.

Los Angeles to Honolulu Nonstop

– Currently 6 daily nonstops. Flights 143/144 will be upgraded from A321 to B772.

Phoenix to Honolulu Nonstop

– Currently 2 daily nonstops. Flight 692 will be upgraded from B757 to A333.

  1. How much would it be for round trip ticket from South Carolina to Oahu Hawaii for one adult trying to get a great deal thanks have a great day😍

    1. Hi Christine.

If you don’t mind very long connections, there are fares this fall from mid $700’s on a combination of airlines. Otherwise generally the price is about $900.

      Aloha.

      1. Hello!

Earlier this year, our party of 3 from Greenville, SC got tickets on American for $606 (to LIH), out of ATL for June-July! It then dropped to $504 later. we were even able to get the departing airport changed to GSP becuase of a schedule change. It’s possible to find good deals, but you have to be flexible and be willing to book quite a ways in advance.

        Regards,
        Justin

        1. Hi Justin.

We’ve gotten deals between Hawaii and US/Canada for as little as $200’s RT, and between Hawaii and Europe in $400’s. Seriously. But it does taking time and flexibility.

          Aloha.

  2. What is the most preferable way to travel to Maui from New York in September/October considering price, airline and connections?

  3. As owners in Maui, my wife and I used to love Hawaiian Airlines. Not so much any more.Their staff’s attitude is not so warm and welcoming as before. The ‘aloha’ spirit is fading! Their free meal has turned into more of a snack. They flunked at taking your baggage off the plane, it took one hour to retrieve our baggage in Mau and Los Angelesi. And now they are changing out their beautiful big and comfortable, two aisle a330 airbuses to the smaller single aisle a321s! Same size type aircraft as Soutwest Airline’s 737. Welcome Southwest Airlines to the group! I’ll take peanuts and ‘cheaper fares’!

    1. Hi Richard.

Look for announcements later this year with services to begin early in 2018.

      Aloha.
