This week has been huge for Hawaii visitors and Hawaii deals. Allegiant Hawaii routes went from two to six. Alaska Hawaii routes continue to expand. Hawaiian Air and others are having an inter-island fare sale through the summer. In addition we’ve been covering some fascinating developments around the state. Alaska Air New Hawaii Route: Portland to Kauai $179+ Each Way

More Hawaii airfare deals today, with the announcement of yet another new route. Alaska Airlines will commence nonstop service between Portland and Lihue Kauai on November 5. What’s currently being billed as seasonal four times a week service, is sure to expand to daily service if demand warrants. Flights from Portland will be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday morning. Returns from Kauai will be on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

To celebrate the new route, Alaska has a super Hawaii airfare sale if you act quickly. One way fares start at $199 ($179 + $20 tax) each way.

Today’s Hawaii travel deal:

Airline: Alaska Airlines.

Route: Portland to/from Lihue Kauai.

Travel dates: Portland to Kauai from November 5, 2012 through December 12, 2012, and Kauai to Portland from November 6 through December 24, 2012.

Purchase by: May 24, 2012.

Availability: Limited dates. At time of publishing, from Portland November 12, 26, 28, December 3, 5, 10. Many dates after January 1 for about $50 more each way (still a great deal).

$69 Inter-Island Fare Sale Extended

Last week’s one-day Hawaii airfare sale has been extended. You’ll have a choice of three airlines on this offer that’s now set to expire on May 23, 2012. This is an all too unusual opportunity to obtain decent reductions in the otherwise high cost of flying within Hawaii. Not all dates and flights are available and some flights are significantly more. Typically booking as far in advance as possible works best. Check all three airlines to find the best dates and times.

Today’s Hawaii travel deal:

Airlines: Hawaiian Air, GoMokulele and Island Air.

Dates/Routes/Pricing: Between Big Island (Kona, Hilo), Kauai, Maui and Oahu.

Prices:

For travel through June 30, 2012: $69-$75 per non-stop one way flights, including all taxes and fees.

Allegiant Adds Four New Hawaii Cities From $130+ Tax Ea Way

Today Allegiant Air added four more cities and five new routes to its roster of Hawaii flight origins, and as we have been predicting, they are Bellingham, Eugene, Santa Maria and Stockton. Paired with these exciting the new service announcements and an expansion of an earlier route are some truly exceptional deals.

You’ll need to act very quickly as these fares will sell out before they expire. Introductory fares are one-way and must be purchased by May 21, 2012 for travel by Jan. 15, 2013. The services below start in mid-November. Allegiant previously announced two other Hawaii routes, from Las Vegas and Fresno, both of which start next month.

Where are the great deals?

All of these just announced fares are winners. Of special note, is the incredible pricing available in most of these markets for the Christmas and New Years holidays, if you act quickly. All routes (except Bellingham) have holiday airfares in the $200 range each way, and some are even less. I expect these to be gone within hours. As an example (and valid at time of publishing), you can fly from Eugene to Honolulu for $500 round trip all inclusive on this introductory fare. The cheapest alternate fare is over $700 higher!

Plus more flights to Fresno

In addition to new routes, the airline announced that they’ll increase Fresno to Honolulu service to twice weekly. Starting November 14 the new flight will depart Fresno Monday morning and return to Fresno Friday evening.

Here’s a today only sale that’s a good enough Hawaii travel deal that I wanted to let you know about it. We’re so happy to have at least some relief in the inter-island airfares. This includes Hilo which has been left out of most sales.

Bay Area to All Islands this Summer $156+ Ea Way

Yes you read that right, late summer and fall Hawaii airfare starting at $156 each way. And to the typically more expensive neighbor islands in addition to Honolulu no less. I paid that much to fly just within Hawaii last week.

So what’s the deal? In a word, competition. Hawaiian Air and Alaska Air are battling over the Bay Area. As a result, you get to enjoy spectacular savings of up to $300 or more round trip off the typical price.

This is a deal to jump on quickly (as in today – May 9, 2012), as availability will go fast to be sure.

Today’s Hawaii travel deal

Routes: San Jose and Oakland to Big Island (Kona), Kauai, Maui and Oahu.

If you want to do some island-hopping this summer, here’s just the ticket. Getting from island to island typically runs much higher, so there’s the potential to save in some cases 50% or more.

Half-Off Gourmet Hawaii Coffee Bar in Honolulu

If you love coffee as much as I do, enjoy this Hawaii deal when visiting Waikiki on your Hawaii vacation this year. And if you don’t know about Mt. Ka`ala Coffee Company, consider this an introduction.

Mt. Ka`ala roasts and serves only Hawaii single origin beans from five Hawaiian Islands. You’ll find offerings from the Big Island, Kauai, Maui, Molokai and Oahu. I first learned about Mt. Ka`ala from coffee aficionado Shawn Steiman, who quite literally wrote the Hawaii coffee book.

New York to Hawaii $303 Each Way

May 3, 2012. As you know, there’s about to be new service between the Big Apple and Honolulu. It starts in just four weeks, on June 4. When the service was first announced, there was a great fare sale. Today we have the second round of New York to or from Hawaii deals.

Other than this fare sale, the price to fly between New York and Hawaii is typically $400-$600 each way.

We’ll be traveling to New York with Hawaiian next month so you can expect to have our report on this new 5,000 mile route.

Price: $303 each way, plus tax, based on round trip. $668, round trip, all-inclusive.
