Welcome back. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. In case you’ve been wondering, I have been on the road (actually in the air), and am about to have an interesting Hawaii trip report to share. But first, Cyber Monday wouldn’t be complete without some Hawaii deals. So here’s what I’ve found that may be of interest:
1. Alaska Airlines Cyber Monday Hawaii airfare deal. $160 each way between Oakland and Kona. Travel between January 16 and March 7.
2. Starwood Cyber Monday Hawaii hotel sale. Save 15-35% at statewide Starwood locations including 10 properties on all the major islands. Book by December 2 for stays through April 30.
3. Trump Tower Waikiki Cyber Monday 30% Off. It’s still not cheap, but if you’re looking to stay in one of their luxury suites, this is a great deal available today only.
4. Hilton Waikoloa Village from $164. While not a Cyber deal at all, I just happened to be on Expedia today and saw this. The page says from $169, but I found dates for even less. It appears in fact to be about $25 a night less than the hotel’s own website. Dates I found at the best price are mid-December and vary by date.
5. Hawaii Magazine $10/year. This is the lowest price you’ll find for this popular publication, and it’s available today only.
Do you know of any other Cyber Monday sales that apply to Hawaii?

since I’m already subscribed to Hawaii magazine (it’s only an every-other-month publication) if I purchase this will it append to my existing subscription?

Hi Ed.
Good question, but I’m sorry I don’t know the answer. I have no regular contact with them but tried to reach them by phone at 808-537-9500. I didn’t get to a live person. I also tried to have a look on their website, but couldn’t find an answer there.
Aloha,
Jeff

Just signed up for email alerts and was thinking of signing up for VIP alerts. We want to travel from Tampa to Maui in June. Is it cheaper to fly to CA (either LA or San Diego, for example) and then get separate flights to Maui? What is normally the best way to get there from Florida? Thank you.

Hi Eric.
If you’re planning on coming the first of June, a deal should be possible. If on the other hand you’re talking about the end of June, that isn’t likely. As a rule of thumb, flights from the Bay Area and San Diego to Oahu and Maui have been ruling the deal roost. Therefore, it might work out best to travel say to Oakland, and then from Oakland. Occasionally there are deals from Florida directly to Hawaii, but they aren’t frequent.
Aloha,
Jeff
