Descendants: Filmed on Kauai – Win a Free Hawaii Vacation

The Descendants was as you know filmed here on Kauai. I watched as the George Clooney’s film was being made here at Hanalei Bay last year. Some of the movie trailers show him walking along my favorite strip of beach at a spot called Pine Trees, where renowned writer and filmmaker Michael Crichton lived. The movie is Alexander Payne’s tale of a land baron who attempts to re-connect with his two daughters following his wife’s boating accident.

This Blog was most helpful, your ideas are straight to the point, and the colors are cool too.

A group of us saw the movie on Thanksgiving. We loved it and thought it did a great job of portraying Hawaii. Not the cheesy stuff that the tourists want to see, but a true view of how we live. I was a bit dismayed at the use of language, this may take it out of any award catagory, but it was true to life in all othe aspects. Some of us live on Kauai and some on Oahu and we all think everyone should see it and support it.

Kauai is a beautiful island. I would like to visit there again. I’m looking to visit Kauai or Maui or both during the first week of June. When will airfare sales for this time period begin? I’m flying from Houston or Dallas and missed a couple of quick sales a few weeks ago before we made our final plans.
