East Coast and Mid-West to Honolulu $203 Each Way
The incredible Hawaii airfares from last week have returned again today as the legacy carriers move into each others turf. A number of these airports are now appearing for the first time.
These are incredible fares, especially considering that the distances are up to nearly 5,000 miles each way to Honolulu. I’ll keep checking to see if for more cities get added later today.
Here are the details:
- Airports: Chicago, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Detoit, Memphis, Salt Lake City and Washington DC to Honolulu (neighbor islands are again not included).
- Price: Approx. $476 round trip (all-inclusive).
- Airlines: United (except Chicago, which is both both United and American and Washington D.C., which is American only).
- Availability: Now through June for Chicago and Washington, and now through mid-November for the remaining cities (holidays excluded).
How to book these deals: You can determine availability using a flexible date search (such as Kayak, Travelocity, FareCompare, etc.). Book through these sites or directly on the airline websites. You cannot telephone the airlines to obtain these deals. You can commence travel either on the U.S. Mainland or in Hawaii.

Great deals. Think it’s worth booking flights more than 6 months in advanced? I guess it’s unlikely to see prices lower than this from Chicago.
It also appears that American Airlines is priced from $203 each way from ORD to HNL for some dates.
Hi Alba,
First, this is terrific pricing from/to Chicago and I would definitely not wait for a better deal. That is highly unlikely. Thanks for mentioning American from Chicago. Either I missed it or they came on afterwards, but in any event, I’ve added it to the post.
Aloha, Jeff
I took your advice and booked. $457.60 round trip (all-inclusive), from Chicago on AA (non-stop) during spring break in April 2011. My wife is teacher so our dates are very limited, and this worked out perfectly.
Now I have almost 8 months to find a hotel and rental car and maybe an inter-island flight.
Thanks for the post!
That’s great Alba. I’d start looking and even book a tentative hotel and car now that you can change later.
Aloha, Jeff
I’m trying to find this deal. I would like to leave on December 5th and come back around the 17th-20th. I would like to leave from Atlanta and go to Honolulu or Kaui.
Can you tell me alittle more on how to book this.
Thanks. Helene
Hi Helene,
To/from Atlanta was only available until mid-November, as indicated. In any event, that was two days ago, and deals like these typically last 8 hours. How to book was described in the post, but let me know if that somehow wasn’t clear.
I hope that helps.
Aloha, Jeff
