Find Best Hawaii Airfare Deals On Facebook?

Find Best Hawaii Airfare Deals On Facebook?

We’re always looking for the best Hawaii travel deals, that’s obvious. To do that I’m employing every tool I can find, both old and new.

Here’s one that crossed my desk and it’s both simple and fascinating.

Skyscanner Flight Search

A fast-growing Scotland-based flight search engine, has just moved into high gear on Facebook. In doing so, they’ve devised a simple way to let you ask, “what’s the best deal available today.” You go to their Wall and just ask about the city pairs and dates you’re interested in seeing. Within seconds, a response gives the best deal available at this time.

“Dubbed ‘Skyscanner for Facebook’ the new tool allows Facebook members to post a flight request on Skyscanner’s Wall and receive a price quote and flight details back in seconds. There is no need to navigate away from the Facebook site or install any apps; users simply have to ‘like’ the Skyscanner page to use the tool.”

There’s one slight snag

At present the results presented are in Pounds rather than Dollars. Otherwise, it seems to understand Hawaii and the U.S. just fine.

For those of you who spend a lot of time on Facebook, and don’t want to use a handful of other tools, this may be a good fit. Please let me know what you think.

I don’t care for the idea of posting my airfare searches on a public site. Do we really want the whole world to know our travel plans? Just not comfy with this one Jeff.

skyscanner also has a great web page and free mobile app. I prefer using the web page as I’m leery of (averse to) using Facebook because of security reasons. The web page also has a great tool to find the cheapest fare during any month or following 364 days. There is a currency conversion tool on the web page in the upper right hand corner that will display results in US$. I think it on average finds cheaper fares on international flights than some other search engines.
