Updated 10/16/08: Hawaiian Airlines has joined this fare sale.
As promised, the Hawaii inter-island airfare war is beginning, albeit slowly.
This morning, our new and up-scale player Mokulele Airlines, has lowered their fares from $59 to $45.
At this point, that price is only being offered on flights through the end of November. It is available however for almost all of their flights.
Look for the following:
- The $45 fare to be available on Go! and Hawaiian too (likely later today).
- Subsequent expansion of the interisland airfare war beyond November.
- Further price reductions to below $45.
Yes, Jeff, the so much more affordable Interisland rates are great news for Hawaii residents and Hawaii visitors. What a relief! Finally, we can tell our Hawaii travelers that island hopping is not only fun but is feasible again.
We will now see even more visitors to ‘hop’ over to the Big Island for watching the dramatic lava flow at Volcanoes National Park.
