Go! Pilots Sleep, While Jet Blue Pilots Assault Cab Driver
In yet another bizarre story about airline pilots, the Miami Herald is reporting that two Jet Blue pilots have been arrested and charged with theft and felony battery. This comes on the heals of the two separate stories we reported about the Go! pilots and the Air India pilots who all fell asleep mid-flight.
In this case apparently, two off-duty Jet Blue pilots (William Smith and Brad Leopard) were being driven from a strip club to a Subway restaurant. When they refused to pay the $9 charge, the cab driver pursued them and was then beaten so severely that he suffered a concussion and a broken ankle among other things.
Jet Blue has declined comment on the case.
There is really nothing funny to say about this. Our recent article, written by an AA flight attendant reader, as well as other comments, clearly point out the terrible stress under which all airline employees now operate.

Yes! Terrible stress. Hard to concentrate on piloting the plane with bruised knuckles and a lap dance rash.
I don’t quite see why “terrible stress” and this assault should be seen together. Hardly a justification for this attack.
Thanks for the comments ba and Oliver,
I concur that there is no justification whatsoever, stress or otherwise.

Aloha Jeff,
Being grumpy to my passengers is on thing - the alleged behavior of these pilots is inexcusable. I always do my job and behave in a professional manner (again, perhaps grumpy) while on company time - on the clock or on a layover.
Mahalo!
