Thinking of bringing your golf clubs or surfboard to Hawaii? You may want to read this before deciding. Otherwise your great Hawaii airfare deal could quickly evaporate.

The airlines are raising little publicized baggage fees, including those that help turn your dream Hawaii vacation into a reality. It’s interesting to see that for the moment golf clubs are charged at standard checked bag rates across the domestic airlines that service Hawaii.

On the other hand, the fee to transport surfboards varies greatly. You can spend $40 round trip for bringing your board or you can spend $400 on the very same route.

Be sure to check with the airline before buying tickets, and keep in mind that these prices could change at any point. Additional charges may apply for sporting equipment that is over sized or weighs more than 50 pounds.
