Hawaii Deals from Bay Area to Maui $265!

Unbeatable Hawaii deals between the San Francisco Bay Area and Maui. In case you missed some of the earlier sales this year, you’ll be glad to know that this one is the cheapest yet. It also clearly makes the point that the legacy carriers are not giving up on Hawaii.

Updated 5/3/16 9am HST: So far this has not been matched at the lowest by other carriers and is over. The best airfares in this market are currently $348 to $378 on American Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Virgin America. Great prices and nonstop.

These offers could end at any time. In the morning we may find that other airlines have matched the offer, or it may just have fizzled out. We’ll update with what happens next. Also stay tuned for LA deals to Hawaii with new flights starting later this month and in June.

Airline: American Airlines.

Also check for potential matching: Hawaiian Airlines, Virgin America and United Airlines.

Route and Prices:

  • San Francisco to/from Maui $265 round trip.

Fares and Availability:

  • These are the lowest fares each way in these markets and are not available all or even most dates.

Travel dates at time of publishing:

  • From San Francisco May 5, 7, 12, 14. August 20. 25, 26. September 3, 8, 10, 17, 24. October 1, 7, 8, 15, 20, 21, 22, 29. November 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12. December 2, 3. January 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21. Other dates are available for slightly more. These flights require stop in Los Angeles.

If these dates and routes don’t work for you: We expect to see many more Hawaii airfare sales from the San Francisco Bay and Los Angeles airports. Also check Alaska Airlines from Oakland and San Jose.

  1. I did not see any of the $265 deals you mentioned from SF to OGG for any of dates. Specifically looked for later in the year as well including all the Jan 2017 dates. These things must last all of 10 minutes.

    1. Hi Jason.

We stated in the post that it might be gone shortly. It actually lasted 8-10 hours from when we posted it. Most people who follow our site realize that is the nature of fares priced so aggressively.

      Aloha.

  2. Beat of Hawaii–so appreciate for all you do for us! You mentioned to stay tuned for LA deals to Hawaii with new flights starting later this month and in June. I have been checking everyday for the last few months for LAX to OGG/Maui and its been a heartbreak not seeing the airfares budge. My sister in Maui is scheduled to have her baby June 9th, so we’ve been searching with dates of June 8th to June 16th. My boyfriend and I might resort to Priceline’s “Name Your Own Price,” but even that hasn’t budged. My folks however don’t want to use that option and will buy tickets like normal. I wonder if the difference in waiting will be worth the wait? Any advice greatly appreciated. Mahalo!

    1. Hi Louise,

Thank you. When Virgin America begins flights (not much before), we may see some interesting industry reactions with fare sales. Flights start May 15 to Honolulu and June 14 to Maui.

      Aloha.

    1. Hi Michael,

There’s nothing that indicates it will go lower short of flying to Honolulu on Allegiant.

      Aloha.

  3. Any updates, has this deal expired or been matched? I’m not seeing these AA fares SFO -> OGG anymore for the listed dates in August.

    1. Hi Jessica,

Those are pretty much all gone, but there are still fares in the under $350 range which are great. Suggest buying those.

      Aloha.

  4. Planning to fly on Hawaiian Air Nov. 29- Dec 15 from Phoenix to Kauai to Big Island then back but the price has stayed the same for the last 6 months. Should I stop waiting for a price drop and buy now? I am afraid my lodging choices will be gone if I wait much longer. Thanks!

    1. Hi Karen,

There’s nothing we see that would indicate a fare change coming in that market unfortunately.

      Aloha.

  5. Flying out of Kansas City to Lihue in mid September for 10 days to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Current prices running around $900/person. Do you think there’s any chance they will go lower and if so, when? Thanks..love this site. You guys do a fabulous job!

  6. Love your updates, however maybe I’m just missing something, who is the carrier offering this deal. At least let me know which link it is on?

    Many thanks,
    Rick

    1. Hi Rick,

That was on American Airlines. The other carriers did not match.

      Aloha.
