    Hi Rob Jeff and readers,

Does anyone have a budget condo/motel recommendation for Oahu? I only need a studio apartment and I’m looking for the cheapest, clean/safe option I can find. Its for 2 weeks in Aug, and will spend another 1 week at the Hosteling International Waikiki (their max stay). I’m travelling on frequent flyer award seats and took the only available seats I could get, so my vacation is longer than I planned and therefore my accommodation budget tiny!

      Hi Alice,

The problem is that “budget” accommodations, like Hawaiian Monarch or Continental Surf are nearly $60 a night, whereas you can get 4* Hawaii Prince on Priceline for $72. You might check with YMCA, which has accommodations in the $40 range. Sorry to not have more ideas. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

      Aloha,

      Jeff

    Aloha Jeff!
Thank you very much for your reply.
Do you know of any reliable websites/agencies for renting inexpensive studio apartments? My max budget is probably $60-70 per night. An apt/condo would be my preference over a hotel so I cook for myself and for less expensive parking (I plan on hiring a car for some but not all of my stay)
I love priceline but with the additional priceline fees/taxes/high parking and internet fees even the $72 is over my budget for this trip.
Many thanks for your awesome website, Alice

      Hi Alice,

No I do not know of any source of renting inexpensive apartments. What came to mind was VRBO, but I really don’t know.

Let me know how it works out for you.

      Aloha, Jeff

Where are you standing?? That looks so lovely, I don’t recall seeing water so tempting during the 10 years we lived there!!

      Hi Catey,

The photo was taken on Molokai’s east end.

      Aloha,
