  1. Hello, could you please tell me best time to book a flight Seattle to Maui Sat Dec 3 – Dec 10 ? We could have flown Fri Dec 2 return Sat dec 10 for $464 a couple days ago.. now that flight $578 Did we miss the big sale?
Do you see the rates dropping for Sat-sat or Fri-Sat DEC 2/3-10 in the near future?
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Matthew.

Prices for fall are fluctuating quite a bit and sales are reoccurring (though no one knows just when). While Saturdays are problematic, it should still improve somewhat. Just hang in there. It is still early and that route if very competitive.

      Aloha.

  2. I’m searching flights deals from RDU to Kona for the fall 2016 for 3 adults. My dates are flexible. I’ve not found any flights under $883 per person. We are willing to fly to California stay the night and fly to Kona the next day if it saves money. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you, Sarah

    1. Hi Sarah,

There are American fares in that market at $716, but they require long layovers so are undesirable. Thursday, Saturday and Sunday departures. There’s room for improvement so suggest waiting a bit longer. Say until September if need be. Availability should not be an issue. Kona is expensive from LA, and pretty much everywhere, so a stopover isn’t going to help.

  3. We travel to Kauai every year. We live in Lincoln, Ne but can fly out of either Omaha or Lincoln. What would be the best connection price wise for us to try and make happen?

  4. I am looking for airfare from Nashville to Honolulu. My dates are completely flexible. I clicked on Nashville, but couldn’t find anything with the price you listed. And is the price one way or round trip? I’m be grateful for some guidance/direction.

    1. Hi Danielle.

Currently best fares in that market are just under $800 RT. Those were available when published. As we have said many times and as stated in the post, you needed to book that right away. Deals we post which are often very far below normal prices, can disappear within a matter of hours. Best way to get these is to subscribe to our updates and book right away if you see ones that work. BNA gets very few deals to/from Hawaii.

Fares listed are each way based on round trip purchase.

      Aloha.

  5. Aloha,

I am researching a vacation to Honolulu from Orlando, FL. What is the best airline or route to take considering i am traveling with young children.

    Mahalo and Happy Aloha Friday!

    1. Hi Shawn,

Fastest routing is on Delta via Houston, at just under 12 hours. American is about an hour longer. You generally pay more as the duration decreases, if that makes sense. Best deal this fall is on American at $668 – many dates available if you act now.

      Aloha.

  6. Tulsa to Maui June 2017. It’s early, but these airfares are insane at $1250 rt, even $1100 pp rt from DFW. I have a condo booked at the Kapalua Bay Villas but am concerned about these airfares. I’ve read your suggestions but am concerned about flights filling up for these direct from Dallas to OGG flights. I’m open to any advice. Is it too early for a ‘mahalo’? Ha

    1. Hi Monty.

We’re finding about $1,100 with reasonable connection from Tulsa. We also see just under $900 using a combination of airlines from DFW (checking using an OTA since it isn’t a single carrier routing).

Not sure that the prices will improve. Normal for the route has been about $1,000+ for after June 10.

You might want to book sooner than later if your trip and dates are certain.

      Aloha.
