We were greeted with fresh made juice, a cold towel, and received a golf cart tour of the resort by a warm, welcoming host. Our room was huge and beautifully decorated. The resort is very serene, quite, and beautifully landscaped. During our dinner at the resort, two local Hawaiians played slack key guitar and sang heavenly. I will remember them forever. The resort is very adult-themed and relaxing. Hamoa Beach is nearby and also very enjoyable and beautiful (salt and pepper sand and fun waves). In my opinion, there are 2 downsides to staying at this hotel: dining options are limited as there aren't any other restaurants in the area. The food at the hotel is delicious but we like to try different venues. And, the windy, scary drive on the road to Hana. We saw many awesome sites but it was a white-knuckle drive. I recommend this hotel for someone looking to get away from all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life and experience the authentic aloha culture. We had stopped there previously for lunch during a guided Road to Hana tour, had a chance to look around, and decided to give it a look the next time we were on Maui. We had a Sea Ranch Cottage and were really blown away. We knew going in that there weren't electronics or alarm clocks in the room ahead of time (which made getting up for the sunrise a little tricky), but were still in awe when we go there and experienced it for ourselves. The resort itself has something like 72 acres or something, and is very beautiful. The staff is very helpful, and mostly local, and everything is so peaceful there.
