Hi Stephanie. Yes, it is about as clear as mud. When heading to Australia through HNL, there have never been any questions at all about food. It is all about what you have when you arrive in Sydney. They once washed my sandals when they didn't think they were clean enough. Going to the mainland is another thing. Typically I don't get asked any questions about things that are cut up and ready to eat. On the last try out of Lihue however, I was told that fruit salad wasn't acceptable. That after perhaps dozens of times when it was fine. So who knows.

Aloha,

Jeff

Hi - I am never clear, when going thru Honolulu's Agricultural Screening, "whether" I can bring my own food from home (Honolulu), on board the airplane. It looks like you packed fruit and vegetable salads, and took them on board your Honolulu-Sydney flight. Or, do you have to promise to eat them/dispose of them before you arrive in Australia or the US West Coast? Thank you.
