Hyatt Hawaii Sale From $220

Hyatt Hawaii Sale From $220

Hyatt is having a 48-hour sale that includes its three Hawaii properties.  Given the significantly improved travel economy here in Hawaii, I would now consider this a good deal for these luxury hotels. The sale comes too early to help at the new Hyatt Place Waikiki, which is set to open this Fall.

Book by January 26, for stays through March 31, 2011 in order to to save 25%.

Rates start as follows:

  • Hyatt Regency Waikiki $220
  • Hyatt Regency Maui $267
  • Grand Hyatt Kauai $344

I remember the first time I visited Hawaii…honeymoon with my young bride 20 years ago…we stayed at the Princess Kaiulani Sheraton in Waikiki. It wasn’t the honeymoon suite or nothing..just a regular room in the tower section with a city view…overlooking Kalakaua Ave. We traveled all over that island and took a fly-drive to the Big Island for a day…On our last day at a Luau in Paradise cove, we met up with another couple and found out that they were staying at a Sheraton property as well…the famous Pink Hotel that we could see from our balcony. We got to talking and they told us that they were leaving the next day too and that this was the first time they stepped outside of their hotel…Um…OK…My wife and I flew across a continent and an ocean for 12 hours…we are *NOT* spending the whole week in a hotel room…we can do that anywhere…This was Hawaii! Unknown to us at the time, but we made a secret pact to ourselves to stay at the most affordable hotels (more on the cheaper side) and spend the money on the vacation sites! As we have become more affluent over the years, our idea of “affordable” has gone up, but still… have to question spending over $200/night no matter where it is I’m staying…especially when I can get cheaper accommodations with no real loss in quality somewhere else…and we’re not such snobs that we have to be *seen* at a premium property to save face…

Thanks Ed. I tend to concur personally about spending less money these days on accommodations.

Nonetheless, the Hyatts are very popular in Hawaii, and even some of our frugal readers opt to spend less on airfare and more on hotels. These are good rates for what they are. For example the Grand Hyatt Kauai is a fine hotel, in many ways the best hotel on Kauai. You could spend that much or more at another property and get less value in my opinion.

      Aloha, Jeff

I absolutely love the Hyatt in Kauai. When you compare this hotel to other 5 star resorts in other destinations, I find you’re still getting great value for your money. The only danger in staying here is that the resort can be so relaxing you might not get in your rental car and check out the rest of this beautiful island.
