LAX to Kauai Non-Stop, Under $400

This is a very good deal, though perhaps not earth shattering.

Travel dates vary by carrier, but validity at this point is through early March.   If  Spring break doesn’t improve for the airlines in the next couple of weeks, I expect to see this deal be extended or reappear with validity through April or beyond.

  • Los Angeles to Lihue Kauai (LIH) approx. $394 RT (all-inclusive)
  • Airlines: American, Delta, and United (also US Air via Phoenix)
  • Valid for departures through early March
  • Availability is excellent, including weekends
  • Advance purchase: 14 days
  • Minimum/maximum: 3/60 days

I’m planning a trip to Kauai in April. Should I buy the tickets now or wait for a possible sale to arise? Thanks.

  2. Jeff says:

    Hi Jim,

If it were me, I’d wait. Right now the prices for April travel are relatively high given the economy. I think there will be another round of deals that cover travel through early June. These might appear at any point now.

If you need to book in the meantime, the fares are somewhat lower (check Hawaiian) starting April 20.

    Aloha, Jeff

    Hi Jeff,

I am also planning to travel to Kauai in the first two weeks of April. Airfares are surprisingly high right now (especially on United). At what point do you think fares will start to down?

    Thanks.

    Hello Jeff,

I just found out about your website and wonder if you have any thoughts or information about summer fares to Kauai from Oakland or SFO. We’ll be staying for 6 weeks (or so) and we’re flexible in start dates but want to get there during the last week of June and leave during the first week of August. Recently I saw Hawaiian’s round trip fares for a little over $600. Is that the best we can do?

    Thanks,
    Jane

  5. Jeff says:

    Hi Jane,

The lowest fares I find today for your approximate dates this summer are in the $700 range.

For a normal year, that price would be considered low to average. But this is anything but a normal year.

The prices have recently gone up by about $200 for that time period. The airlines will try to stick with those prices if at all possible. I don’t know if or when they might lower them. But I will certainly keep my eye out for a better deal, and post whatever I can find.

    Hope that helps.

    Jeff
