The Beat of Hawaii was on the scene today.Rain gauges reported more than 3 inches an hour.Here’s a photo taken of the new river in our backyard.It’s going to take months for the water to clear.So much for mowing!
Some North Shore homes are in danger and the Hanalei River bridge remains closed.On the Southwest shore a large shipping container broke loose on the Hanapepe River causing water to back up with significant flooding and evacuations reported.
One tip:Never open the garage door in a flood situation.I did and the flood waters flowed in!
