Maui This Summer Including Sheraton And Air From SF $399
Here’s another great deal from Pleasant Holidays to get you to Maui starting in late August.
As you may know, Pleasant buys bulk seats, primarily from United Airlines. They are able to pass the discount on to you. This results in an air plus hotel deal that is below the cost of airfare alone when purchased directly from the airlines.
Unable to find the deal on their yet to be updated website, I called Pleasant. I was (if you’ll excuse the pun) pleasantly surprised by the helpful and not at all pushy Bakersfield-based agent, who was able to find the $399 deal, once I was completely clear what I was looking for.
At this price, you would normally not expect to get Sheraton Maui. The well-reviewed hotel has a beautiful 23 acre setting at historic Black Rock Beach.
- Travel dates August 28 through September 4
- Total cost including all taxes, fees is approximately $800 for two persons.
I booked a vacation through pleasant holidays at the Sheraton in Maui from August 20-26th. My wife and I are traveling there for our anniversary and I always hear about people getting upgraded at their hotel or flight because of some special occasion. Does this really happen? If so, how can I go about asking to get upgraded without sounding like a fool?

As for the airline, from my experience, I’d say it won’t happen.
Hotels are another matter.

What a fabulous site with valuable travel information. Got a few questions: I’m interested in traveling to Maui for our anniversary (we honeymooned there too) with travel between the 3rd week of October or the 2nd/3rd week of November. Travel can be from Oakland or SF. Is there a preferred time/season for the best deal? Also, we would love to return to the Fairmont – with a deal. Lastly, I have about 80,000 alaska air miles for use but prices are in around $800 online! I know Alaska is starting direct flights from Oak-OGG on 11/9 – but I’m not finding any good deals – maybe I’m too late. Thanks for the Huge Help! Sheila

Thanks for your comment. Right now price is about $500 from either SFO or OAK to OGG. My gut says that the price will be coming down, but only time will tell. It may take another month or so to know. I really can’t see it going higher being sold out at that price however. I looked at the Fairmont site and saw their 30% off deal. Hopefully we’ll see something better there too.
