Spring Break: Nonstop From LAX Or SFO Plus Sheraton Kauai: $400 Total

Updated 1/30/09:  Many of the dates (especially weekends) are already gone, so you’ll have to be flexible on dates at this point.  Those who subscribe via RSS feed (not email), had access to all dates, when first announced late yesterday.

This is an expansion of the offer we had earlier this week from Pleasant Holidays.

Not only is this a great deal, frankly it seems too good to be true.  While I am able to easily book it now, the offer won’t last long.

This includes non-stop air (using American and Delta from Los Angeles and United from San Francisco), and three nights at the Sheraton Kauai.  The Sheraton isn’t fancy, but it has one of the best locations and beaches on the Island, and is another Beat of Hawaii favorite.

The cheapest price I found on Sheraton’s website for the hotel alone was $189 a night.

If it were me, I’d add three to four more nights, perhaps at another Kauai location and end up with one fantastic vacation.  No one will even believe how little you paid for it.

Availability:  To Kauai, it is available during normally high Spring break, March 1-28.

A similar offer is available to Maui (Kaanapali Ocean Inn)  at about $375.  It is available now through March 28.

I went to Pleasant Hawaiian and looked at their $389 deal for Sheraton Kauai from either LAX or SFO and plugged in my dated 3/12 to 3/15 and came up with over $2100 for 2 people. I could find no way to get anywhere close to the $389 for one person. Any suggestions or is it all hype on their part? Thanks, Katie

Many dates have disappeared even since I posted late yesterday.
March 9-12 is still available from LAX-LIH as of now. Other dates in month are still available too.

Flexibility in dates will probably be key to those last people who can take advantage of this deal before it is gone.

I was excited when I saw this deal until I noticed the 3/28 end date. A lot of school age children have spring break the week before easter (which is 4/12 this year), which would mean travel from approximately 4/4-4/12. :-(

The price for 2 adults with airfare from LAX to Lihue and a 3-night stay at the Sheraton for 4/6-4/9 is $1800. No car or insurance.

As for air travel and accommodations, Spring break starts 3/9. It is spread over so many weeks now, compared to how it was in the past.

    Aloha Jeff,

I have been looking at a trip to Kauai in the next three month period and have been hoping deals would come about and yesterday saw your news on my home page about the pleasant holiday deal from SFO and today saw March 9- 16 for $902. I was excited and started to get arrangements made at work for covering for my wife and I, and an hour later when I checked it again the deal was gone. I’m so disappointed. Since, April would work well too, do you think deals like this will come along again? That deal was as if the room was for free.
    Thanks,
    Jody

    Hi Jody,

Sorry that you missed that deal.

I think there will definitely be more great deals in the next 90 days. I can’t say if it will be as good as the Kauai/Sheraton deal, since as you said, the room was basically free.

If you haven’t done so, please set up some form of feed reader, be that igoogle, myyahoo, or google reader and subscribe to our site in one of those. Also consider subscribing to our twitter feed. These are the only ways I know of to get the deals fast enough to take advantage of them.

    Aloha, Jeff
