  1. Hi. Looking to travel Feb 28-Mar 9, 2017 from the San Francisco Bay Area to Honolulu. Currently R/T prices are $418. Good buy, or should I wait for sub $400 deals?

  2. Hi, my friends and I are planning to visit Maui this November. Right now airfare is running $659/RT. I’m wondering if I should buy the tickets now or wait to see if they drop any lower? I’m just curious if this is a good deal or not. We’ll be flying out from Minneapolis, MN.

    Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Jenna,

Just saw some under $550 RT fares with fast connection on Alaska starting the last week of November and returning until mid-December. As good as you can hope for.

      Aloha.

  3. Hi…my family wants to go to Hawaii during the week of Thanksgiving…probably the most expensive week of the year! Should I purchase flight tickets now or should I wait until late-September? Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Yohan.

You didn’t indicate route so we can’t check specifics. Thanksgiving weekend to weekend dates won’t have deals so that is best bought now.

      Aloha.

  4. Hello! We have just been invited to Hawaii over the Christmas holidays. I was wondering if I should wait a few months to book our tickets? Our dates will be departing LAX on December 26th 2016 to HNL and returning on January 2nd 2017. At the moment I can see $1079 RT per person. Do you think airfares will get any cheaper a few months out from our dates?
    Love your website!
    Thanks,
    Lisa

    1. Hi Lisa,

Thank you! Yes $1,072 on your dates with Virgin America. Not very likely that will improve, but it’s possible as is lack of availability. That’s how it goes at the holidays. But, if you are able to adjust by one or two days, then the price drops significantly. December 28 through January 4 is $700 on Hawaiian.

      Aloha.

  5. Love your website, email notifications, articles and hawaii revealed books! Since we’ve set our sights on going to Hawaii for our honeymoon in April 2017, I’ve been doing serious research and using all of your suggestions for guidance. I have a few questions…

My fiancé and I would be departing from New Jersey on the east coast and are looking to spend 10-14 days… Visiting Maui first to catch the end of the whale watching season and then spend the other half on the Big Island. We’d be staying in resorts on the west coast of both islands. Would be flying out either the April 3rd or 4th in 2017.

    1. What is the best pricing for flights I can expect to get since we’re flying from the east coast? We’ve started looking and it seems the flights are $1000-$1100 right now.

    2. Any airlines I should focus on and watch in particular for the best probable pricing?

    3. I’m confused how to arrange a RT flight into Maui and leave from the Big Island.

Any help and guidance would be much appreciated!

We’ve been researching all sorts of day trips and excursions using your books. They’re amazing when trying to plan and get insight so thank you so much!!!

    1. Hi Dawn.

      Thanks so much!

United seems to have the fastest connections from EWR. Flying into OGG and out of KOA, we’re seeing $957, which isn’t bad. Price varies by duration of flights/layover. The faster it is, the higher the price. But it was quite speedy at that price. Then you can just book your Hawaiian Airlines inter-island flight separately. Book that soon after making the primary reservations.

You can choose to wait but gut call is that the price won’t change substantially if you book now or later. Hope that helps. If there’s anything else we can help with, just ask.

Sounds like you’re in for a great honeymoon.

      Aloha.

  6. Going from Houston ,TX to Kauai HI from Feb 9 to 19 2017. Any suggestion for a great deal. Right now I see some flights mid 800.00 to low 900.00. However if I could manage a round trip from SFO or LAX then book round trip from HI to get me there and back, Im thinking I could get a better deal.

    1. Hi Beverly.

Intermediate stops don’t work well in terms of baggage, security and even price. For your dates best price is just under $900 on Alaska with very good connection. If you can adjust by one day price drops by $65. Doubtful that it will improve much for your dates, and typically lowest on that route is close to $700.

      Aloha.

  7. Hello,

I am looking to travel from April 12 or 13, to April 16, 2017 from NYC, JFK airport to Hawaii (not sure what part yet). Can you please help me with informing me of when is the best time to book, what airline has the best prices and what should I expect to pay for round trip per person? Myself, my fiancé and our son will be going. Thank you very much in advance.

    1. Hi Towanna,

Probably best at this point to watch with us and we’ll see what the deals are and which airline is offering them. This fall will probably be the time to book, but best deals could even come later – like early 2017. Target airfare $700.

      Aloha.

  8. Hii good evening ,
I was just wondering if there are trips from Kuwait City to Hawaii ?
    Thank you 🙂

    1. Hi Razan.

Not really sure what you are asking. If you’re asking for specific deals on that route, the answer is no.

      Aloha.

  9. I just found your website and love it! We are a family of 5, coming from Houston, Texas and would love to visit Kauai next summer, if our budget allows. Any recommendations on what is the best month to start looking for deals? Unfortunately, due to the kids school schedules we are limited to somewhere between beginning of June thru mid July. We can be flexible as far as weekday departures and would be willing to drive to Dallas to fly out of, if a significant difference in price. Also, we do have relatives in San Diego and Portland, so if flights cheaper to book from there, I could probably find good airfare deals on a separate airline from Houston to one of those locations, if that would be the better route to go. Any advice is most appreciated! I did sign up for email alerts from your sight.

    Thank you again!
    Kelli

    1. Hi Kelli,

Thank you. Unfortunately bad news on your hopes. Fares next summer after June 8 will run $1,000-$1,150, largely depending on how long it takes. Fastest routing costs the most. There will be no deals and it is best to buy as soon as possible in terms of availability. Dallas is running somewhat cheaper – but still starting in $900’s with long duration, if that helps. Routing via west coast probably will not help either.

      Aloha.

  10. Thanks for a great website! Just stumbled across it while trying to figure out the best time to purchase tickets for JUNE 2017. We will be flying from SanDiego on June 12 RT Honolulu with a return of July 5. On the Hawaiian Air website, the nonstop extra comfort seats are $758.01. Is that a good deal? Also, 1st class is listed as $1266.21, but if I select the extra comfort seats in a mock booking they offer me the 1st class for an additional $254.10. That would make the upgrade to 1st class cheaper than the 1st class price listed on the main screen. Your thoughts? and should I book or wait? Many thanks
    Jon

    1. Hi Jon.

Definitely suggest buying now for peak summer travel. On checking we’re getting somewhat different pricing. About $600 RT, which is really good. Plus either extra comfort or first class upgrade, either of which is a great plan.

      Aloha.
