  1. Hello from California! We plan on having a destination wedding in Maui in October 2017. Do you have any suggestions if flight prices will vary from week to week? I was hoping to get married on the weekend of Columbus Day but not sure if the airfare will be higher.

  2. Hi, I am traveling from Raleigh NC to Honolulu in the later part of June, 2017 for 10 days. I am looking to purchase a round trip ticket. Could you please tell me when would be the best time to make a purchase.

  3. Hello, I am hoping you can provide me with some information. I have never been to Hawaii and was looking into taking my family there for my 25th Anniversary. Can you please let me know when would be the cheapest time of year for airfares to make this trip? I would be coming from New York City. JFK Airport.
Thank you in advance for your help

    1. Hi David,

Not sure what more you’re asking as that is what the post is all about. Be sure to reach each of the boxes. Fall and Spring are the least expensive times.

      Aloha.

  4. I am looking to fly 13- 27th of june 2016 to OGG any tips for getting the best rates out of Burbank or Lax.

  5. Hello! I am looking to travel to Maui sometime in July. MY dates are flexible and we would like to go for a week or so. We’re flying in from Los Angeles, California. When is the best time to go and what’s the best price? SO far I’ve found $784. Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Megan.

We’re seeing about $710 on multiple airlines in July. Not likely that will improve. Check on accommodations and car as those may be costly too.

      Aloha.

  6. Hi from South Africa!

We are wanting to travel to Kona 23rd December – 7th January, from either Johannesburg or Chicago – two very different places I know! Should we wish to leave from Chicago, which airline would be the best to look at? And where in the U.S would be the cheapest place to fly from to get to Kona? We aren’t set on leaving from Chicago.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

    1. Hi Kerry,

Nice trip. You’re traveling at a very expensive time and ORD-KOA will run about $1,400 with a reasonable connection. Cheaper (though you have to get there) is the Bay Area – Oakland or San Jose, in the $800’s. But not really a good deal either. Try changing your outbound to 12/24 for some savings ($712 out of San Diego) perhaps. Short of changing your dates, there isn’t anything we can recommend unfortunately.

      Aloha.

  7. We’re looking to book flights to Maui from Ottawa, ON Canada in mid September 2017 (staying in Maui for approx. 2 weeks before return). When is the best time to book these flights?

  8. Hi, we are planning our holidays in Hawaii Jan 23rd- Feb 7th. Cheapest flights from London to Honolulu are about £850 now. Do you think I can find cheaper deals later? Or it’s not worth waiting? Many thanks!

    1. Hi Vilius.

There is a fare of £600 RT on Westjet, for very near your days, with two stops (or £691 with 1 stop in Vancouver). Use their monthly view to find available dates. Hope that helps.

      Aloha.

  9. Hi, my husband and I will be traveling to Honolulu April 10 to April 22 on Premium Economy seating. I have only found flights $1300 traveling from CMH with one stop LAX. Didn’t know if this is a good price or will it go lower ? Have never been to Hawaii, so we are not sure of the normal prices. Thank you so much !!

    1. Hi Jeanne.

Yikes that’s a lot of money. Problem is mostly that Columbus doesn’t have a competitive market for Hawaii. Given that, price might come down but also might not. If it does, target is high $900’s. We see that for example in November, so it isn’t out of the question for April. Suggest waiting – perhaps until January. Hope that helps.

      Aloha.

  10. I will be traveling to Honolulu from Minneapolis, May 11, 2017. When would be the best time to look for flights and what’s a good price? The cheapest I’ve found is over $900. Thanks in advance!

    1. Hi Kayla,

Currently $802 on Alaska with a fast connection. That’s a reasonable price. There could be a fare sale covering Minneapolis as we do see those a couple of times a year. But that’s uncertain, as is when it could happen. Since that is low season there isn’t any harm in just waiting and watching however. Hope that helps.

      Aloha.
