  1. Hello
I love your website so much information. I am going Feb 6th and flying out of BWI and i am currently finding prices of $736. Should i wait any or go ahead and buy, i just don’t what kind of prices i should be looking for.

    thanks for your input.

    1. Hi Tonya.

Anything about $700 with good connections is an excellent price for that route. Wouldn’t wait.

      Aloha.

  2. Hi,

We always appreciate the advice at Beat of Hawaii in helping plan our trips to Maui. We’re planning to return to Maui somewhere between March – May 2018. When during that time (from the west coast) would we find the lowest airfares on Hawaiian Airlines? We have previously flown out of San Diego and Oakland, but now have family in Seattle, which would enable us to avoid hotel costs – we live in Houston and typically stay overnight in our departure city to break up the trip.

    Mahalo and Happy July 4th!!!

    Frank

    1. Hi Frank.

Next year is up for grabs due to all of the airline changes due to start early in the year. For your off season travel wait until new flights get announced which should result is rather wide-spread fare sales to the islands.

      Aloha.

  3. We are planning vacation to KOA then OGG in October from NYC. We can use miles to get to LAX, but finding $687 as lowest fare for the second leg on American. Do you think that will drop?

  4. My family and i are planning on flying out to Hawaii October 18-25, when do you think the best time would be for us to purchase tickets? I have heard prices drop last week of August. Is that cutting it too close?

    Thanks

    1. Hi Desiree.

What you’ve heard isn’t correct. Fall price changes could occur at any point from now through fall. Keep a lookout. There is no harm in waiting until near the end since availability won’t be an issue.

      Aloha.

  5. Hi!! I am planning on traveling around Easter in 2018 from the Bay Area (Oakland, SFO, etc.). Right now the prices are really high do you think they will go down at all being that it is around spring break and a holiday?

    1. We are looking to travel around the same time, but from the east coast. Mon-Mon (3/26-4/2) or Tues-Tues (3/27-4/3) flights look lowest right now, and some 4th of July sales rending tomorrow.

  6. Hi, if I’m looking to have my wedding date set for October 2018, when do you think would be the best time for me to purchase tickets?

  7. I’m wanting to travel to Hawaii in January of 2018. I’m proposing to my fiance and I’m hoping she says yes!

  8. We are planning a wedding for June 2018. Is early part of June a lot better for airfares from the mainland? Although we aren’t keen on it, would Memorial day weekend wedding save us on airfares? We would fly out of ABQ, and have family in South Carolina, Southern California, Boston, and Austin, TX that we want to be there. Mahalo!

    1. Hi Ann.

Generally speaking, completing your trip by the first week in June, say June 7, will save 35+% on airfare from all locations. Shopping for that will start this fall and beyond. Let us know how your planning goes.

      Aloha.

  9. We are planning Feb to early May 18 trip to HNL, then KOA and then OGG. We from Fl.specifically Tampa / Orlando what airline do you recommend also from Philly. We know inter Island is HA we traveled many many time and have used UA, Delta and AA. We are looking when is a good time to Buy??

    Thank you

    1. Hi Rich.

$747 with good connections from TPA to HNL and returning from OGG on American. Good price. Not likely it will improve at all by waiting. From Philadelphia, about $1,000 with good connection on United or Americanand that has potential to improve by up to $200 – perhaps later in summer or fall.

      Aloha.

      Aloha.

  10. Hi!

You are very knowledgeable so I was wondering if I could please get your advice. My family and I are planning on going to Oahu from either LAX or San Diego. We are looking to leave on July 31 until August 9, but will be flying with Hawaiian airlines. Ticket prices seem really high at $780. Do you think I should wait a little or go ahead and buy tickets at that price? Thank you in advance!

    1. Hi Angelica.

Your dates are challenging to predict inasmuch as they are at the end of the high season. If summer demand remains strong they may stay as they are and if not, they could come down.

      Aloha.
