Welcome to our own unique, curated travel collection. These are our absolute favorite, tried and true products that we’ve been using regularly flying from and to Hawaii.
We’re excited to share these with you, our value conscious readers.
Travel Guides and Books
The Hawaii Revealed series is our own “go-to” source for Hawaii destination information. A perennial favorite in print or eBook. The author lives in Hawaii and scours places anonymously to bring you his unbiased recommendation. You’ll also learn about hidden places to explore. We especially like his hiking and beach notes. The Fodor’s Hawaii guide has become quite popular. Lastly two of our favorite must read Hawaii novels.
Help save your health and that of Hawaii’s reefs by using environmentally sensitive products that are also healthy for you and your skin.
When we lived on the mainland years ago, some of these shows and musical artists gave us a dose of Aloha whenever we needed. We have also included newer favorites like The Descendants filmed on Kauai.
Luggage and Packing
This luggage scale has saved us tons of money in baggage fees. We never have to worry about an overweight bag. In our hotel rooms, we use this handy lock to make sure things are protected. The packing bags have also been useful. You can take them in the car with you to store wet swimsuits and towels. Travel with a takes-no-space collapsible duffle is a standard practice here.
On-Board Wellness and Comfort
Airplane Masks: We’re going for them after getting sick too many times after flights to Hawaii. Many sources have indicated that these may be helpful in preventing disease when flying. The 3M masks are the same masks that health care workers use. The “Comfy masks” claim they remove even smaller particles. Health Aids: Our favorite products, year after year. We’ve been using Po Chi as a travel stomach remedy for decades. Comfort: A unique travel pillow and a very light and easy to pack travel blanket, and xlnt silicon TSA-approved liquid containers. Lastly these adjustable airline cushions have been fantastic. Behind the back, or to sit on, they work equally well at a park, or anywhere.
Food on the Fly
We’ve been travelling with these for as long as we can remember. Only exception is when we have a full kitchen.
Things to Use in Hawaii
More of our personal favorites include a universal night light, portable coffee filter, water-proof phone bag, stain removers that really work, a combo usb/power strip, our own Sony underwater camera, a ultra-lightweight beach towel, favorite Ex Officio travel clothes, our travel clothesline and what we use after being stung. Worried about Jellyfish?
