We rented a house in Kona last year and the rental website had where you could review the places you stay. I thought I was rather nice considering some of the inconveniences but the owner refused to approve it. So I went to TripAdvisor and they said only the owner of the rental can ask that their rental be listed. I thought the whole point of TripAdvisor was to inform travelers of the good and the bad? That's interesting that you've been to French Polynesia. My upcoming post in March will primarily focus on the island of Huahine. It's been two years since I've been to Big Island (and it's only 250 miles from Kauai). My favorite place to stay is the Hapuna Prince Hotel. This time we decided to try something different and stay at a $69 oceanfront hotel. We thought it would make an interesting post about budget travel on the Big Island. I'll let you know how it goes.
