  1. I am delighted to read all your tips. Thank you. We are traveling from Salt Lake City Utah to Honolulu may 1-8. What Can I expect to pay and when should I buy? Thanks so muc

    1. Hi Claudia.

About $600 now on Delta nonstop. Could improve by up to $100 if you wait – although we can’t say for sure it will or if so when. Those dates probably won’t book up so you don’t need to worry about that.

      Aloha.

  2. I am going to Oahu 3/21 to 3/26 from Los Angeles. It is always $500 round trip even though you advertise $168 each way. It does not seem to be there.

Tell me how to get this fare. Tell me what phone number. I am continually frustrated by the fares you publish that I cannot get.

    Please solve this problem.

    1. Hi Dave.

      Please read our posts carefully.

First, the post clearly states pricing for that route as follows: “Los Angeles $198 until December.”

With regards to a phone number, it also states: “Available to book online only.”

Lastly, what we have to offer may just not be a good fit for your needs. It works for a huge number of other people, which is why we have millions of visitors each year.

      Aloha.

  3. I have never booked a flight for Hawaii and My wife and I are going to Honolulu to visit our daughter sometime between March 25th through April 2nd. What should we be prepared to spend for RT tickets? Thank You

    1. Hi John.

From San Diego. You should expect to spend about $850, for those spring break/high season dates. It might come down if you wait, but on the other hand, you also might not be coming.

      Aloha.

  4. Hi! I’ve been using your site for deals for several years, thank you for all the great tips! We’re looking to travel to Kauai from Oakland in the first week of April. Do you think prices will come down or is this as good as it gets?

    Thanks,
    Lisa

    1. Hi Lisa.

First 10 days of month are high season so don’t currently see likelihood of it improving.

      Aloha.

      1. I’m leaving the week before from Oakland — the last week of March. Is that still considered “high season”? Should I wait for a cheaper direct flight from Oak to Lihue (Alaska Air is the only direct one). Mahalo!

        1. Hi Debbie.

End of March to early April is high season/spring break. It looks both tight and expensive.

          Aloha.

  5. With no further news about Southwest Airlines to Hawaii, should I pay the 850 round trip from lax to Maui and kona for summer 2018 now or wait. Don’t want to pay too much now if things are going to change soon but worried about prices going up. I appreciate your views.

    Mahalo
    Carol

    1. Hi Carol.

There is significant downward pressure on prices for next year, even without SWA. Gut call is to wait and target $700 or less. It might not work, but you asked for our view and there you have it.

      Aloha.

    2. Have you considered flying from Sam Diego? We just purchased tix for $361 round trip in Late May. I saw the same dares in June and July as well!

  6. I want to travel from Houston to Honolulu 4/5/18-4/12/18 or 4/14/18. There will be 8 of us traveling. Will the prices from the $945 range in the coming months?

    1. Hi Miranda.

Not sure if it will come down, but there is no harm in waiting since your dates are post spring break.

      Aloha.

  7. Hello, I’ve been watching flights from SMF to OGG for the first of March and the prices haven’t been changing any. Do you think they will drop any?

  8. Aloha!

I have been a subscriber for the past few months. Some great deals. But looking for some Chicago to Honolulu deals.

Article I read yesterday suggested Mid December. We are planning a 1/27-2/14 vacation.
    Any suggestions or expectations?
    Mahalo!

    1. Hi Debra.

Sadly $750 to $850 with reasonably quick connections. Doubtful it will improve. In the future we all hope for flights from the midwest.

      Aloha.

  9. What dates are you looking at to get $166 one way from Seattle to Kona? I looked, but everything I could find was over $500 round trip.

  10. Mahalo for always keeping us up to date on great airfares! I am running into a problem with the last three emails I’ve received that include links with the destination and flight price.
Each time I click on the link under Honolulu Deals, the link doesn’t bring me anywhere. I tried each city, and it’s not bringing me to another site. I am particularly interested int he Honolulu to NYC for $358 one way. Can someone help? Thank you! 🙂
