If you’ve been waiting to fly once again and jonesing for cheap flights from New York to Hawaii (or from Hawaii to New York) – all islands, today’s the day for that. And if you’ve been waiting to see what the airlines might have in mind to bring visitors back to Hawaii, today is also an indication of that. This is just the beginning. Travel on Hawaiian Airlines through March. Prices are normally in the $300-400 range each way or higher and this price is the lowest we can remember. Currently, the State of New York does not have a 14-day quarantine for those traveling from Hawaii.
Travel can be purchased as a one-way ticket. Flights at this price are available to Maui, and other islands are just slightly higher. Read on for details including dates. If you’d like to spend time in beautiful, warm Hawaii, at any time through March, here’s your chance.
Reopening Hawaii Deals: New York to Hawaii $232+
Like all of you, we are learning day-by-day exactly how Hawaii tourism will be reopening starting this Thursday, October 15. We’ll be updating throughout this week and beyond on reopening, testing, what you can expect, and more. Travel and purchase dates: Buy soon for the best availability as this offer could end at any time. Travel mid-week from December through March. Travel can start either on the mainland or in Hawaii. Weekends and holidays are not included.

RE: the “lowest-fare” NYC HA flight, we were able to take advantage of the introductory one-way fare of $212.00 when they started the service in June of 2012. Economy matched the NYC area code of 212 with $808.00 first class matching Hawaii’s 808 area codes.

I live on the east side BI and will be traveling to the mainland and returning Nov 4 on delta arriving HNL, then switching to Hawaiian Air to Hilo . All one day. I’ll be tested before leaving mainland. Mayor Kim says he will be doing testing on arrivals at kona . Do you guys think that I will have to quarantine for 14 days unless I switch to arrive in KOA?

Yeah, planning travel to Hawaii is nothing but a challenge! Just went to Hawaiian’s site and in February, 2021 the flight is $651…no such thing as $232. We will just keep shopping and watching.
I would note that I made my car rental reservations months ago….and thank goodness I did. I’m not sure how Hawaii vendors expect visitors to return with the price gouging I just witnessed. We are there for a month, and the prices are almost $700 MORE than when we made our reservations. So we have the car. We have the condo to stay in (our timeshare)…now we just need a flight. Looking for that special (like this one if it would have existed) and that the beaches will suddenly not get closed. Certainly don’t want to on the Big Island and have no beaches!
I’m sure all of you in the islands can hardly wait to see people coming again!

Just saw that HA is cutting back on their April flights 8-10% and up to 20% in May. It didn’t say if this was interisland or Mainland or a combination. Do you have any further information? Seems they will put out a new schedule within the week.

Thank you. We really won’t know about Southwest effect on connecting flights for a bit here. We’ll all be interested to see that and it will be revealed soon. Moreover, for August (after the first week), we suggest you wait for several months until we get to more aggressive pricing for late summer and fall. Perhaps late spring.

It virtually never works out better to have separate tickets. Just under $1,000 RT on multiple airlines and about the same from either airport. Might come down down some due to Southwest’s entry, but we don’t really know at this point. Our sense is you may be better off waiting a month or two rather than buying now.

There are some $334 RT fares from Denver to Kona on American this fall (October) and $448 on Alaska in November. Hope that helps. Prices should improve going forward from Denver as we anticipate more flights ahead.

Hi Lynn M. If you go on to the specific airline’s website there should be dimensions for carry on luggage on there, but be careful. I purchased according to the airline’s dimensions but the seats rows were so close together that I still could not get my carry-on under the seat in front of me. Also, if you are sitting in an aisle seat the space under the seat in front of you is much more narrow. I would recommend a soft sided backpack that is much easier to manipulate to get under the seat.

The deal fares we publish are sometimes only available for a number of hours, sometimes a few days. Yesterday’s could be booked for about 6 hours before the airlines pulled them.

Really too far out. You can start looking 330 days in advance, but best prices will probably not be available until 90 days in advance. Target price for Maui or Honolulu is $800’s with good connection or nonstop.
