We are Planning Trip for 2 adults 2 children for approx 17 nights starting approx Sept 8 from rdu-hnl with possible connections to other islands. Please let me know if there is any possibility of me flying southwest . I have heard many good things about southwest except for recent unfortunate events.Would like to be kept informed of Southwest Hawaiian Updates Thank You

I live in Colorado. Would not mind flying from Denver to San Francisco, & then from San Francisco to Lihue, Kauai. I am very much hoping to buy one of those $99 each way tickets.
I’ve never been to Hawaii. So I have a few questions for such loooong trip. I read somewhere in here that they don’t serve meals, nor sells them either.
So I guess ‘Is it OK to buy something in the airport to bring in the airplane to have something to eat?’ I think they did provide drinks. Thank you for your time. Connie

I fly southwest often. Yes, you can bring food on to the airplane, (for any flight really) And actually you could make a sandwich at home if you like and bring that through security and everything. Southwest does also serve beverages. Hope that helps.
Thanks for listening to me. Ontario is the inland empire of socal airport that Southwest already serves. There are millions of people there in heavily populated areas that would fly from there as opposed to driving to LAX in miserable traffic for 2 1/2 hours. I hope they see that opportunity.
Will Southwest Airlines have a direst flight from Reno to Honolulu? I went to Reno for a bowling Tournament this summer. It’s difficult when you have to get your bags from one airlines and bring it to another. I flew to Las Vegas from Honolulu. Ended up at Terminal 3 in Las Vegas. Picked up my bags, rode a shuttle to Terminal 1, checked in at Southwest Airlines then flew to Reno. If Southwest flew o Reno direct I wouldn’t need to handle my bags until I reach my destination. I don’t think any airlines flies direct to Reno from Honolulu at this time.
My gut feel is no, at least not in the early years of mainland-to-Island flights. I think the Reno market is too small.
Hello, I’m flying to KOA from SMF 01/2019. You mentioned upcoming Hawiian flights from SMF to KOA, are they direct SMF to KOA? Will SWA flights be direct SMF to KOA?
Do you think there will be flights from Portland and Seattle eventually?

Why wouldn’t Southwest initially fly out of LA or Vegas? They have direct flights all over the country to those two destinations. So those on the east cost could have 1 stop service to Hawaii.
Can’t wait! We are hoping this starts before we take our honeymoon at the end of November. Would love to ride Southwest all the way Maui from Columbus, OH. Make it happen!!
