  1. Why buy insurance when you book? With a cruise, Wouldn’t it make more sense to book when you make final cruise payment. Because up until then, you get full refund anyway.

  2. We traveled from Kauai to Kenya and Uganda to go on Safari. Travel insurance brought piece of mind for our $22,000 trip.

  3. Be sure to file claim within 24 hrs or they won’t pay.
    Yes
I know your on vacation but Do It or youll not be compensated

  4. We too had a travel insurance incident this summer. We made an emergency room visit for my hubby who fainted (dehydrated). This would have cost us over $1,000 AFTER regular medical insurance coverage but travel insurance picked up the remaining tab! Since he had not yet met his deductible on his regular insurance the travel insurance covered this as well! The travel insurance was active for our trip through our Chase card, even though we flew on award tickets using points, because we put the taxes from the award tickets on the Chase card. A whopping $5.60 each way was charged to the card… oh the joys of travel hacking!

  5. We just saved about $30000 in travel insurance cost by never purchasing it in 55 years of travel. Cost is actually probably higher than this but is a low cost estimate. Not only should you consider your possible savings in procurement of travel insurance but your potential savings in not buying the insurance.

    1. AGREE RICH! I bought travel insurance once and was sorry. So many things in the small print, I never got reimbursed. Never used since and I am happy. THANK YOU for bringing up this point.
