We are planning a trip from Minneapolis to Honolulu (5 people) sometime between November 2018 and March 2019. We are flexible with dates so I’m waiting for the best possible price. Do you recommend waiting for Southwest to publish their flights? Or is there a good time of year to go from the Midwest? I see great deals often for other cities but never out of Minneapolis.

If you want to wait for SWA they may be of help. That’s hard to say right now. In either event, it is good to wait. Target price is in low $600’s.

Hi We are going for a week in July 7-14th. We want to fly from Oakland to Maui. Hawaiian Airlines says $2,329.89 for 3 RT. Do you think it will go down? thanks

Not at all likely to go down for those Saturdays in peak of summer. Alaska is about $230 cheaper for 3 on their nonstop than Hawaiian if that helps.

I have to fly to Honolulu from Los Angeles a lot. Fares seem to have gone up quite a bit. Allegiant doesn’t fly the route any more, and Southwest won’t be in the picture until next year. Oluolu (Please) can you give me some guidance on economical flights from L.A. area flights to Honolulu and back? A flight from Burbank to Honolulu for $150 would be manna from heaven!

Summer fares are incredibly good – starting about $550 RT. Not sure when you’re thinking of flying. LA is mostly around $500. Will improve after SW arrives, but nothing on horizon earlier than that. There is Sun Country if you want to look at them. They are doing one-stop in LAX to HNL from MSP. Nothing at all in future regarding Burbank as far as we’ve heard.

Hi, we would like to fly to Kauai in July anytime near the 21st for a wedding we live in Austinville Va out closest airport is Roanoke Va but we can drive to any airport within 5-7 hours away if needed for a cheaper flight their will be 4 if us so we need as cheap as we can get lol anybhelp you could give us would be greatly appreciated please.. Thank you! It is possible. Only issue might be you’re flying on weekends. Current $800 fare might improve to high $500’s with good connection. Suggest you give it until say July and see. Hope that helps.

$1,066 12/27-1/3.
$920 12/27-1/3 to Kona.
Otherwise, your dates are $1,300+. Not likely they will improve. You can always try waiting, if you are prepared to not travel if they don’t.
