  1. Once I have survived (hopefully) contracting or been given a highly effective vaccine against the disease or highly effective antivirals are developed that I can travel with then I will travel back to my beloved Maui. This virus is going nowhere. Only through a herd immunity of 60-80% or an effective vaccination rate of 80-90% can we hope to loosen the grim reaper’s hold on the 3-5% mortality rate.

  2. Hi!

We have our timeshare booked for the first week of November. Thank you fork keeping us updated. I’m hoping we will get to visit our favorite place by then. Will be looking to your articles for airfare.

  3. Have a flight booked on June 25 just waiting
To see how everything goes. Hoping all of this
Will be under control will see . I will wait before I cane
    I cancel my trip. Aloha

  4. We have condos reserved on Kauai to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary at the end of August. We’ve been watching airfare because there will be 12 of us; our kids & their spouses as well as 6 grandkids. We have been to the islands many times with other family and friends but this will be the first trip for 2 adults and all grandkids. We have Hawaiian points to use for some of the fare. Can’t wait to share the island with others again. Love your website!

    1. Hi Janet.

Thank you! If you are buying 10 or more tickets, have you checked with the airline group travel desks? You might be able to get 10% off – or more. It is all negotiable. Especially today.

      Aloha.

  5. Aloha-
We stay at Honua Kai in Maui a couple times a year. I just booked our summer trip on Alaska Air for the end of June through mid July. Wishing everyone on the islands good health and hope everything returns to normal soon.

  6. We have flights booked to Maui on May 15th, then from Maui to Kaui on Hawaiian May 16th, returning back to Maui May 20th. Then flying back to Canada June 5th so our trip is in danger of not happening but time will tell.

  7. Aloha and a big mahalo for keeping us Mainlanders informed. My wife and had a vacation to Kauai ( where we plan to retire in 2021) planned for 2-+ weeks in mid to late May, but that’s history with the Hawaii Air cancellations and Gov Ige’s 14-day quar antine. We would love to reschedule in 2020, but my wife is a highly skilled nurse, so trying to reschedule her vacation is challenging. And I think you’re correct – the minute we turn the corner Hawaii is going to be flooded with vacationers. Aloha

  8. We have a resort and flights already booked for Kauai for Sept 16-23, then Oahu from Sept 23-26. Sure hope life is back to normal by then! Thanks for all your updates…they have been extremely useful over the years! Mahalo!

  9. We typically go over my birthday – May 30th. Don’t think that will happen this year but maybe over my Mom’s birthday at the end of June. If not then in August or September for sure! We can’t wait to return! Thanks for keeping us up to date on all this, much appreciated. Mahalo!
