    My husband and I have had many upsets in our lives for the last 15 years. Cancer x2, 3 heart attacks, triple by-pass and death of both my parents. He is presently in stage 4 of lung cancer but, we;re in hopes of his remission when he gets his next pet scan in September. This would absolutely be a great trip for us to unwind at.       My husband has a Traumatic Brain Injury while working on the Highway Department for 20+ years.He was hit by a semi and was working on the ground and in no vehicle. He is a miracle to be alive and walking and talking.I am his nurse.It would be wonderful to have a vacation.He was hurt July 2,2003 just before the 4th of July.I bet my husband of almost 17 years now September 29,2017,would love it!     I will be volunteering in south Kauai for 10 months starting Sept 2017. My start date is somewhat flexible (I must report for work by second to third week of Sept). I do get paid a nominal stipend but not nearly enough to rent even a tiny studio in the area.

    Any suggestions where I could live (even if possible) for 10 months for a max of $500/mth which might help me break even?

    As I must also pay my own airfare do you think by waiting if there will be any price difference between 2nd and 3d week of Sept.? (NJ to HI)

      Can’t help with accommodations questions.

      It looks like mid to high $700’s will prevail, with best prices out of JFK and not EWR. Either week is the same.
