Free is the best kind of Hawaii travel deal. And here’s an easy way to score a Hertz one day weekend car rental completely for free, either in Hawaii or elsewhere.
There are those times when a one day car rental is all I need. That’s often the case here in Hawaii, when I’m in Honolulu or on another island and just want a car for the day.
Hertz frequent renter program, Hertz #1 Club, has just had a makeover and is now Gold Plus Rewards. I received an invitation to sign up and automatically receive one free weekend day rental. Here’s how it works:
- Sign up here (free membership).
- Immediately (well frankly I haven’t seen the points appear yet) receive 500 points, enough for a free one-day weekend rental (subject to availability/participation).
- Receive 100 additional points for every day of rental from July 1 through September 30.
