2013 is already shaping up to be the most competitive year ever in Hawaii travel. Our three Hawaii-centric airlines, Hawaiian, Alaska and Allegiant, are all committed to Hawaii travel deals. Even without added help from legacy airlines and possible new player Southwest, these airlines will assure us of good Hawaii deals ahead.

January and February are traditionally considered our snowbird months, when visitors from colder areas of the country plan to get away to our tropical climate. It if usually hard to find good Hawaii deals for these months. But not this year.

Travel dates: mid-January through mid-March. Not all days. Use airlines’ monthly view of fares to find best prices.

San Jose or Oakland

  • Maui ($131-$146)

  • Kauai ($134-$151)
  • Kona ($146-$151)

Hawaii deals | LA from $161 each way including tax

Airline: Hawaiian Air

Travel dates: late January through mid March 2013. Not all days. Use airlines’ monthly view of fares to find best prices.

Los Angeles

  • Honolulu $161. Other islands not included.

  1. Previously, someone posted comments about how awful the Allegiant plane was that her husband flew on, to/from Fresno, i believe. My son just flew in from HNL on Allegiant, and although he confirmed that the seats did not recline, he said the seats were very comfortable and there was extra leg room. he flew intop LAS, but will go out of FAT–let’s see if there’s a difference, as I’ve always had nice planes FAT/LAS.
