  1. These airlines are getting out of hand. It used to be 600 dollars or so to go to vegas but now its around a thousand dollars.

  2. HNL, OGG and KOA have too much capacity.
    Why book a flight from the mainland for $400 roundtrip when rental cars are overpriced and hotels are full and overpriced? They’re not low cost anymore. It’s cheaper to fly to Tahiti or Paris.

    Southwest and Alaska will cut flights when the recession starts. Sun Country seems to be wise.

  3. Until this article I had never heard of Sun Country. I believe that by pulling back from Hawaii and European Markets is a good choice and never flying to Hawaii again would be a good choice. The niche market that they serve currently is definitely a money maker for them, while the balance sheet and accounts accumulate black ink it’s a safe place to be. It’s also a good place to plan and evaluate potential expansion routes from and comfortably differentiate the best place to begin.
