Thanks, Jeff. We are planning a trip to Honolulu in March, and want to take a 2 or 3-day side trip to the Big Island. Do you think I should go ahead and get tickets now, at $150rt, or wait and see if any more deals come along? Is it likely that prices will go up?
Inter-island fares tend to rise as you get closer to the travel dates and sales have been infrequent. I’d probably buy the tickets at $150 to be safe and then not look back (in order to not know if there is a sale).

Either I’m missing something or the $49 fares have been discontinued. I don’t find any mention of them on either website. In fact, the cheapest one-way fare is more than it was the last time I checked ($71). How do I find the $49 fares??

Yes, you’re correct, the $49 fare is gone. It lasted all day yesterday, which isn’t unusual for fare sales these days.
