10 thoughts on “Hawaii Flight Prices Skyrocket | 7 Tricks As Competition Wanes”

  1. How many days out from our Hawaii cruise should we be looking to book our flights. We are traveling from Denver and the direct flights are now running above $1300 per person for economy plus seats next June for our Hawaiian cruise.

  2. I’ve been keeping tabs on flights from Spokane, WA to the Big Island for the past year. We’ll be traveling there in February. Would you recommend waiting until about 3 months before our trip to book a flight or to book it now? Prices are very high right now on all airlines.

  3. BOH, thank you for the information. We begin shopping for flights about 2 months after we return from Hawaii which has served us very well. What You’ve pointed out can help so many find the best fair, diligence is needed though. We fly from NJ and have found United to be the Best Price for our dates, Hawaiian typically is $200.00 PLUS per seat and occasionally over $300.00. They fly from NY and it just adds to the expenses to and from plus parking fees and we choose to stay 1 night prior to flying. NJ is less stress, excellent accommodations and for 1 night stay we get Free Parking while on vacation. NY is out. Many things must be considered when booking a flight and Brand Loyalty shouldn’t be a part of it, it’s all about the Benjamin’s!

  4. This article surely hits the nail on the head. That reference to airline credit cards is certainly true too. That is especially true for Southwest.
    Aloha

      1. Yes they surely do. (This is very dependent on the particular individual.) Most of the cards give you a lot of up front miles/points with the card. Usually there are enough miles/points to get you a free trip for a person or two and some cards come with some very nice perks. If you were to buy those perks without the card, it would cost you far more than the card’s annual fee. You need to do your homework.

  5. Aloha, would you please try to include informattion about flights from DFW! As we’ve moved there and finding flights is a pain. We were lucky enough to find some flights back home for a little over $1000. It was on Southwest. 2 bags free was awesome but no charging ports was brutal! Mahalo for your information as always! 🤙🏾

    1. Hi Darren.

Will do our best to try to include Dallas. There are lots of other airports we didn’t include as well. How about a charging biscuit on Amazon? We almost always bring those in carry-on for anything unexpected.

      Aloha.
