  1. 808-821-1490 is the mongoose hotline on Kauai in case you should spot one there. Call the number and mark the location so that the proper authorities can come out and set traps. Guess you could call this number for skunks, too.

  2. What would happen if rabies were introduced to Hawaii? It would become like the rest of the world that’s what… where death by rabies is extremely rare. A lot of time and money is spent (and generated) in the quest to keep rabies out of Hawaii. I wonder if it’s worth it, in the long run.
