Good news today for Hawaii visitors and residents alike. Two airlines have just announced added flights which should bring Hawaii airlift to a new record high in 2015. Read on for how these flights are likely to bring Hawaii deals back into focus.
New Flights to Hawaii
1. Hawaiian Airlines Nonstop Flights to Kauai, Kona and Maui return.
These five routes were inaugurated for summer 2014, and will now be returning for the 2015 summer season. Flights from LA and Oakland will start on May 20, 2015 and run for approximately four months. Utilizing Hawaiian’s 767 aircraft, these flights will add over 100,000 seats to the Hawaii market. Flights from LA to Maui will use Hawaiian’s Airbus 330 fleet and will operate for 14 weeks starting June 11, 2015. This route alone adds over 50,000 seats to the market.

2. Delta Airlines Minneapolis to Honolulu Nonstop.
Delta announced new service between Minneapolis and Honolulu, commencing October 25, 2015 and continuing through March 26, 2016. The airline is reconsidering the viability of a year round service and will test the market over an initial five month period. Previous non-stop service was terminated in 2011.
Will we see $165 Hawaii deals again on these routes?
It isn’t possible at this time to accurately prognosticate potential airfare sales on the new routes. However this past summer we found (and shared with readers) significant availability on the Los Angeles and Oakland nonstops at as low as $165 each way. Those were offered closer to actual departure dates. So if you’re looking for more Hawaii deals on these routes, it will probably work best to wait and watch with us as possible sales unfold.
