My name is Mary H I am planning a first time visit in Dec over Christmas actually , I will have 3 others also coming along, I read and try to figure out best places , best prices , wwe want to experience the tue Hawaii culture and learn about it , We are arriving on Dec 22 and leaving the 29 , two of us are seniors so we may limited somewhat on hiking far , so we may need to rely on transportation , need to maybe have a tour guide , any help would be appreciated , we are so excited to have a Hawaii learning and fun experience .

      Christmas travel to/from Hawaii is absolutely Peak Season . You can expect higher airfare costs & more crowds. In addition, there are vast differences between the different Islands regarding everything that you mentioned. If you only have that 1 week, with those dates, then you should limit yourself to one (1) Island. The hassles of island-hopping during the Holidays are significant.
