A big expansion on yesterday’s unpublished fare sale just occurred. First, the price was matched by Hawaiian Airlines, as we had predicted. Greatly expanded travel dates through March 22 are now available, depending on route. San Francisco has also been added to the deal, bringing this sale to four of the most important Hawaii routes. Previously this offer was only for LA flights in December.
If you thought that flying to Hawaii from LA (or SF) for under $400 round trip was a thing of the past, that isn’t the case. Although Los Angeles to Hawaii flights have remained much higher than say flights from the San Francisco Bay Area, this sale brings the cost down by as much as 33%.
This is a very positive sign for future competition in these key Hawaii markets, including from legacy airlines that have mostly sat out Hawaii deals in recent years.
