$99 Black Friday Hawaii Travel Deals on 21 Routes

November 27, 2020 by Beat of Hawaii 18 Comments

Black Friday Hawaii Deals

Welcome back from Thanksgiving with some fantastic Black Friday Hawaii travel deals. This year you’ll save between 30% to 50% less than last year’s Black Friday on most routes. There are 21 Hawaii routes starting at $99. The following specials on airfares may be right up your coconut tree and they could even go lower. Below are the deals whether you’re traveling to Big Island, Kauai, Maui, or Honolulu.

Tips:

  • Southwest Hawaii deals have not kicked in yet. We expect they will join for Cyber Monday and/or Travel Tuesday.
  • Sign up for our free email updates for Cyber Monday Hawaii deals and Travel Tuesday Hawaii deals.
  • Check legacy carriers too for some sales on Hawaii routes.

Travel and purchase dates: Book online immediately! These fares are not available if you call the airline. Travel is mostly but not exclusively from January through May 2021 on Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. Use availability calendars to find dates. The lowest fares are for Monday through Thursday only, but some weekends work too. Travel can commence either on the mainland or in Hawaii.

Fares: Prices below are each way, include all taxes and fees for basic economy, as of the time of publishing. Full fare economy starts at about $30 more each way. These can also be bought one way, so you can combine city pairs for even more options. They are the lowest fares currently offered and are not available on all or even most dates/flights. Fares may or may not go lower over the course of the weekend, depending on the competition between airlines.

Important Note on Availability: Use monthly fare calendars to find seats, availability, and best pricing by month. If you no longer find fares listed, they have been become sold out. Some routes and dates are wide open while others are extremely limited.

Hello. I’m new to this website. I don’t understand how this works exactly. I clicked on a link for a $129 flight from Portland to Maui. It took me to Hawaiin Air main page but no flights.

After months of hoping and praying, we reluctantly cancelled our Feb flight to Hawaii.
We met each other at the Top Of The Ilikai almost 50 years ago, and have been travelling to The Islands pretty much every year since. We love Hawaii, and consider it our 2nd home.
Feeling very sad right now – for us and all the Hawaiian ohana.
Kudos, however, to Hawaiian Airlines for refunding all our money. When we finally return to Molokai, without all this uncertainty and worry, we will definitely fly, directly from Boston to Honolulu.

    Aloha,
I’m wondering if a savings strategy is to purchase fares at a sale price, then pay to upgrade to a higher class. (I’m thinking of the lie flat seats for the leg of the trip departing from and returning to HNL.) If yes, is there a recommended time to purchase the upgrade?
    Thank you!

      Hi Pamela.

Good question. The only somewhat economical way to upgrade on Hawaiian is using HawaiianMiles. There are basically two tiers of prices, and when the lower one is available, it is pretty reasonable and varies depending on east coast or west coast.

      Aloha.

Not until the Governor and Mayors drop their draconian testing rules….they can sit among the wreckage of the Hawaiian economy.

They are not getting a penny more from me!

Those ‘draconian testing rules’ are in place to keep our isolated islands safe from a Covid surge like the mainland is experiencing. If you don’t like being tested or wearing a mask, stay away…no one here wants you or will miss you

    Hello,

I’m looking for tickets from LAX to HNL RT for 3/30-4/6 (spring break). Right now the best prices are $603-$650. I’m still waiting to see what happens with SWA (although I know LAX won’t be a player until later in the year). One way fare getting there is $279. Do you recommend buying one way to secure an early flight or just being patient?

    Thanks,
    Stephanie

      Hi Stephanie.

$602-$617 with a few choices in airlines. Actually spring break is the hardest period to predict, and maybe next year even more so with unknown factors. If you’re asking for a gut call, suggest buying at that price. It could come down some but probably not enough that you’ll regret it. And waiting and wondering is expensive in other ways.

      Aloha.

Sales? What sales? For a Black Friday, I was expecting much lower prices from San Francisco. Bring on Southwest, Southwest, Southwest for Real Sales !!! And no extra bag fees !

    Hello,

We are planning to travel to Hawaii for our honeymoon in July. Is it best to book now or wait until a few months prior? I noticed a lot of the recent deals I’ve seen don’t apply to booking that far out.

    Thanks!

      Hi Colin.

July is peak season for Hawaii. There could be sales based on new competition, but that is anything but likely. Typically you should buy now for everything in July (including accommodations).

      Aloha.

We have a visit planned in July 2021 and I have already purchased our tickets. My experience with traveling during peak season has always been to buy as far in advance as possible. Prices typically only go up for peak travel times. I book as far in advance on rental cars too then check rates occasionally.

I believe that you should warn people that these fares do not include all charges associated with traveling. That $168 can easily rise to $200 or more if people choose specific seats, carry on bags, or desire to sit closer to the front. The fares posted by many of the airlines are so misleading.

It would really be nice if they(Alaska Airlines) had decent airfare from Seattle to Kona. $700-$800+ is way to spendy and not 1 stops with a 6+ layover for a cheaper fare.
