  1. I believe it was in 2018 or 2019 when our flight from Honolulu to Oakland or LAX turned around about 2 hours into the flight for some type of mechanical issue. Not sure why we didn’t just keep going at that point, but better safe than sorry. Southwest provided lodging and dinner for everyone, along with a flight credit, then we were on our way the next day.

  2. It’s worth mentioning that twin engine planes are certified to fly on one engine. They can complete take-off and landing with a single engine.

  3. We were diverted on Oct. 4,2022 flying from Dallas to Honolulu. A woman became ill during our flight on American. We had flown from Little Rock, Arkansas to DFW without incident. It was on our flight from DFW to Honolulu that a woman became Ill and we had to turn around after beginning to cross the Pacific and fly to LAX for emergency personnel to retrieve her from the plane.
