  1. I assume if you are not boosted, but have had 2 jabs, and are not eligible for a booster yet, that the governor (in all his non-wisdom) says you are not vaccinated and therefore have to have a negative test result before arrival in order to avoid quarantine?

I got my booster back in the first part of October, so I will be past the 10 weeks where the FDA says the booster starts waning when we arrive in 2 weeks. What about me governor???

    What a mess.

  2. Thank you for keeping us up to date! Is there any mention of an age requirement for vaccination? We are traveling to Maui later this year. Both my wife and I are fully vaccinated with booster. The grandkids have both shots but, no booster. Thanks again.

    1. Dear Bethany, Right now it stands if not vaccinated then yes you have to test. Have a safe & fun trip whenever you do go! 🌺 🥥🍍🌈✈🌏📅🏖

    2. I’m sorry the rules change so much I can’t keep up and stopped paying attention. can someone please tell me if you are triple vaccinated, do you also need a negative test prior to travel to avoid quarantine from Florida to Maui? Thanks so much!

      1. Hi Bethany.

At this time the quarantine exemption is either based on vaccination or on testing. You do not need to have both.

        Aloha.

    3. Well heard today’s 4th omicron vax will be ready come March from the Moderna ceo so you may have to have that also.

  3. Good! Everyone must get vaccinated or just stay home period. I just had a close contact test positive for Covid. Had a meeting with her on Monday fortunately I am fully vaxxed including the booster shot. It just doesnt pay to not be safe and responsible. Do the right thing

    1. Was she vaccinated? Everyone vaccinated or not should be practicing safety and not doing non essential tasks or trips. Like maybe not going to Hawaii until this thing is over. I lived there almost 20 years and would visit many times a year. Why anyone would put themselves thru this is beyond me but hey it’s a free country used to be anyway do what you want if it makes you happy.

      2
    2. I think you’re joking. You’re joking, right? You can’t possibly think you’re protected from COVID if you’re triple vaxxed. How can anyone still be so misguided?

      1. Here’s a few answers: vaccination + booster reduces the chance that you become sick, put an additional strain on hospitals, or die; the un-vaccinated are still the predominant visitors to hospitals and suffer through the longest stays if they live; finally, why be a wuss? It’s a jab that you don’t even feel, except for that feeling of I am doing all i can to keep other people safe.

        1. Yeah I don’t know anyone that did it for anyone but themselves and now they are all ticked off because they have to still wear a mask. So let’s get over the whole I did this for someone else’s benefit. If people were really concerned they would t be flying to Hawaii. If you want to be vaxxed and boosted cool. But let’s not spin it like you are doing anyone a favor. If anything it’s the pandemic of the vaccinated.

          3
          1. Everyone I know got vaccinated to save the vulnerable. Our parents, grandparents, immune compromised. And yes ourselves. Must be a sad it’s all about me world you live in. Sorry pal.

            2
          2. Personally I did do it for others. I have many immune compromised people in my life and I always do whats best for them and to protect myself as well.
Even the brief time we were able to take our masks off I still kept wearing (as did most people) in stores and crowded areas. I have ZERO problem wearing a mask in fact I actually enjoy it.
The pandemic of the vaccinated? What does that even mean?

            2
        2. Sorry to burst your bubble but hospital Omicron is about 50-50…in other word Omicron doesn’t care if your vaxed or not. Also most people do live through a Covid infection.

          5
          1. Citation please. In the real world, the effects on survival without complications very much depends on vaccination status. Actual reporting shows that the severe cases are almost 90% un-vaxed. We have no idea of the long-term consequences of staying un-vaccinated, infected, hospitalized and still having long-haul symptoms for more than a year now in some cases. Stay in the lane you have chosen, but leave your unfounded analysis at the door or pony up.

            4
          2. James B…how about the CDC website? Good enough citation for you? You should apply the words to yourself as well. Instead, you jump down the throat of anyone that disagrees with you.

            3
          3. The hospitalization rate per million among unvaccinated people stands at 532.7; it’s 105.9 for folks vaccinated with at least two doses. This means that the reduction of hospitalization risk for those inoculated with at least two doses is 80.1 percent.

The ICU occupancy rate per million is 135.6 for unvaccinated people and just 9.2 for those who have gotten two doses of COVID-19 vaccines. So vaccination reduces the ICU risk by 93.2 percent.

            For your edification.

            5
          4. Thanks James.Great info clearly stated. Unfortunately naysayers won’t get it. Still no cure for that.

            2
          5. Chris, that’s simply false. It does not say that on the CDC website, not even close. Why do you spread misinformation like that when some vulnerable people could make a choice not to be vaccinated as a result of misinformation and then possibly die as a result? If you don’t want to get vaccinated that’s your choice, why try to talk others out of it?

            1
          6. John, taken from a headline in December…”CDC Announces 79% of All US Omicron Cases Have Occurred in Vaccinated Individuals”. And, for your information, I AM vaccinated. It was my choice as it should be…not a government mandate. I personally think the vaccine is very effective against the original and the delta variant…I’m just stating that the vaccine is NOT effective against the Omicron variant.

            2
          7. Chris. I just did a deep dive into the CDC website and no where can I find any indication that 79% of vaccinated individuals have contracted omicron. Stop Chris.

    1. You are put with the other deplorables and forced to watch CNN non-stop (Clockwork Orange style). Sure, the CNN part violates the 8th Amendment, but we’re all in this together.

      1. Kathy asked: “What is the current requirement for those not vaccinated or boosted?”

        I answered her question.

        It’s all right there.

    2. They send you to France so macron can annoy you. So basically he’ll just be himself. Like he wasn’t already. 🙂

      4
    3. Dear Kathy, for people traveling to Hawaii who aren’t vaccinated they must have a negative covid test result

  4. Hi again – I’m a bit Nervous Nelly, but I’m a little confused. I input my info on the Safe Travels site, uploaded my vaccine card (triple vaxxed), and immediately received an email with the QR code. But underneath the QR code on my phone (not in the email) is a red X and “Screened: No”. Does this just mean I’ve yet to have my documentation screened at the airport? Or have I missed something?

Also, is it mandatory to upload the Aloha Safe Alert app? Thanks so much for your help!

    1
    1. Hi Glenna.

You’re correct in your interpretation that you are simply pending verification screening. No, you do not need to upload the Aloha Safe app.

      Aloha.

      2
  5. What if I got my QR code but it is yellow, not green? Is there a way to get the wrist band in Salt Lake (my connecting flight to Maui)? I’d rather not wait in line once I get to Maui airport if I don’t need to.

    1. Ginger M – Not sure why yours is yellow instead of green. I would think as long as you receive the QR code, you’re good to go and just need to get screened in order to get the green check mark by the “Screened” section either at your departure airport for a wristband or upon arrival in Hawaii in case you can’t pre-screen. What does your Safe Travels account indicate? Just need screening?

  6. Not interested in this mess that is called Hawaii. You could be compliant with all their ever changing rules when you take off from the mainland but be out of compliance when you land. No thanks.

    8
    1. Exactly! I had Covid a year ago December and I still tested positive for Covid Antibodies a year after I had the virus. None of these mandates acknowledge those of us with Natural Immunity. I have 3 timeshares in Hawaii but it’s going to be a long time before I will visit them as long as these ever changing, discriminatory mandates exist.

  7. I just listened to Dr. Robert Malone, pioneer of mRNA vaccine technology, say that the more vaxx and boosters that a person has, the more likely they are to get omicron!! But keep it up Hawaii, this is a good thing for you to do. You have a couple of tough months ahead of you, but by March, 2022, everyone there will have had it and you can stop this nonsense, much to your dismay…

    11
    1. I heard the same thing from him and other virologists and I handle COVID cases. It’s true – I’ve seen it. My own daughter is a nurse, triple vaxxed and is COVID +. She’s the sickest one in her household by far. Her unvaxxed husband and children barely felt sick. This is the first year in the previous 16 years that we will be giving our travel funds to a state without these restrictions. Trust me – we spend money even we travel. So sad that Hawaii is so misguided.

      1. There’s a reason they call individual tales “anecdotes”. A pinpoint in time never equates to actual surveillance data. Nice try though, having supposed medical professionals in your anecdote. Your taking the word of a paid “expert” over actual epidemiologists does speak volumes about your trusted channels for information. Read my original post. The man is no different from “America’s Frontline Doctors”.

        3
    2. The surge here is vaccinated people are having positive covid results with omicron. Just spoke to my doctor this morning.

      5
    3. So if you are listening to a 60-year-old telling his tale about “inventing” mRNA technology when he was 28, then we know which channels you prefer. He’s been on all the sub-reddits, Bannon’s podcast, Carlson, and every wacko podcast and YouTube channel that pays him.

  8. Thank you for staying on top of this subject. We travel to HI in 5 weeks and have not gotten the booster since it does not help with the variants. We will schedule it now and get it done.

Thanks again for all your help!

      1. Because it’s not very effective against Omicron. Also, I’m not eligible for a booster until March but wouldn’t get one anyway. I had covid after Christmas.

        6
      2. Why would you? I know many people who got the initial 2 jabs and now are like booster ain’t happening. Most responded with yeah only reason I got the jabs was to not wear a mask and that was a bunch of bs. Cdc, fauci, who have zero credibility left. They blew it.

        10
      3. Paul, The original vaccines are effective against the Alpha COVID variant (original form of COVID). They do not prevent variants. In fact, the variants have figured out how to alter so that they infect vaccinated people. Thus the current vaccines do not prevent the variants. Not trying to scare anyone just stating facts which are not published by the media.

Peter McCollough is an excellent source if you can find his documentation. And no he’s not a quack.

        2
        1. I can’t speak for Paul, but your information, while somewhat correct, is not the reason to remain unvaccinated. By prevention I assume you mean that the vaccine makes one immune to CV-19 and its variants. Your premise misses the mark. By far, noting hospitalization and ICU differences between the vaxed/unvaxed, you are putting yourself, family and contacts at risk for a unnecessary hospital stay or demise.
