Free Wi-Fi in Honolulu | Large Scale Deployment Coming Soon

If you’re a visitor to Hawaii, there’s good news regarding your internet connection. Not only have most hotels switched to free wi-fi, but the City and County of Honolulu is about to take it one big step further.

Honolulu, in conjunction with Oceanic Time Warner Cable, will begin establishing free wi-fi zones across the island of Oahu. The city plans to roll out service in areas that are heavily populated as well as those that the public frequents. The new free Wi-Fi service will be available in Honolulu, including at Waikiki Beach in 2015. It is anticipated that the project will make Honolulu a national showcase of citywide free wi-fi deployment.

The City of Honolulu Department of Information Technology told Beat of Hawaii that specific details will be announced shortly. Oceanic Time Warner is the major purveyor of broadband internet access for the Hawaiian Islands.

  1. Hi, please tell me what you think the best prices would be for a round trip airline ticket from New Orleans, Louisiana to Honolulu, Hawaii . Departing around Dec. 24th and returning around Jan. 1st. (Dates are flexible up to 3 days before or after travel dates.).

    Thanks for your help,
    Debra

    1. Hi Debra,

Prices are running about $1,300 for your Christmas travel dates. Not sure that will improve unfortunately.

      Aloha.
