  1. Not sure how the rest of the state and country are doing it but L.A County, in addition to the paper card, is entering it into a database and you get an email from partner company Healthvana that allows you to sign up for an account with an electronic record.

  2. This is unconstitutional and I refuse this experimental antibodies shot that is unnecessary.. there are three meds that doctors use to successfully treat covid patients with zero deaths. The truth is coming out about the fraud behind covid, masks that do not prevent it and who is behind it.
This is talked about in the Bible and it is evil.

    1. David K… you assume everyone believes in the Bible and that everyone is governed by it. That is an incorrect assumption and had no business here!

    2. @David K
Wow. My wife is a devoted Christian and an educator. She was flipping for joy when she received her second Pfizer shot.

Geesus, this is just like the flu shot, why are you acting like such a wuss? The vaccine is highly contagious, masks work, and so far, the best medical research this country has says the vaccines work at keeping people like you and I out of the hospital with serious COVID symptoms.

If you want, feel free to go maskless and join the fools down in Texas and Florida (referring to the young ones on spring break). See you in two months, let us know if you contracted COVID and am in the hospital or not.

  3. We have a trip planned for July 2021. We have our first shot already done and second scheduled for mid April… they gave us a paper card .. how do we find out if we are registered on the site for safe travel??

    1. @LYNZ, the way you phrased your question makes me think you are asking how your history of two vaccination shots are “registered on the site for safe travel.” My answer, after traveling to Oahu in December 2020 and February 2021, is: the Safe Travel Hawaii web site is CURRENTLY (3/21/202) designed to store trip information and COVID-19 test results in an account you create with your own username+password. It is not CURRENTLY designed to accept any vaccination records; we are all waiting for a future announcement whether the site will be modified to accept vaccination record information that you upload into your account. I know of no system yet announced to “register” any of your vaccination history into Safe Travel Hawaii by your vaccination provider, or by using your paper vaccination record. i hope this answers your question. Aloha!

  4. 3months for the vaccine is not realistic. I have had my 2nd shot in feb. I have reservations for maui in dec. So your telling me I need to be vaccinated again b4 I go

  5. New York State just started digital proof of vaccination and tests. It is in effect for 30 days and then you can renew it. It’s to help open NY events showing proof of Vaccination through a NY App,it doesn’t list travel, but I don’t see why it couldn’t be used for it at some time(It’s new and just started yesterday). It was easy to do through a NY State website. Maybe Hawaii can see if something like this works for them. I now have something like a a QR code entered on the App as proof, through NY State, that I was vaccinated.

  6. I was vaccinated in Oregon with the Pfizer variety second shot given February 21 – will the 72 hour quarantine upon arrival on Kauai still be mandatory?

  7. Thank you Lt. Governor Josh Green for all you are doing to open Hawaii for tourism again.

I know like all state and especially Hawaii are trying to open their doors to get the economy moving again. There are 4 of us, all “vaccinated both doses”, 65 and older , have twice postponed our trip to the Islands. I have spent a considerable amount of time on Oahu, Big Island, and Kauai and have been wanting to bring my friends to experience the magic and it looks like this time, 6-31 May we will be able to make it. Thank you KHON2 News and Victoria at GoUS Hawaii for keeping us informed.

My final thought- 4 of us traveling “again, we are all both dose vaccinated,” with the trusted pre-test safe travel costing $120 each “which Hawaii does not see a penny” that will be almost $500 that will come out of our travel budget instead of having a that amount going to the Hawaiian economy. $120 time the number of daily travelers to Hawaii. Looking forward to the vaccination passport and having a nice meal down town helping supporting your economy.

    Thank for listening
    Pete

    1. Dear Pete, I’m planning my life long dream vacation trip to Oahu next year!!! I’m getting very excited ♡♡ I’m also waiting on the vaccine passport because I’m a teacher & now fully vaccinated. I’m dreaming about the day when I will be sitting on the airplane traveling to Hawaii:)

  8. OMG!! People please read the guide lines. We all need a negative COVID test to travel Even if vaccinated, or Quarantine. Hopefully this will change as more get vaccinated. Hopefully!!

    1. Aloha Sharon- (& all) Hopefully these rules will NOT change. Do you think the people working at these resorts want to be there risking getting the virus when they don’t know where you’ve been or if you’ve masked after your 72 hour test? Plus-you could get it traveling. Come on, would you want a bunch of strangers coming into your home hoping the rules change for them to use said home as a vacation land? Do you know how long we, the people of Hawaii (ESPECIALLY Kauai), have followed rules; stayed home, masked, social distanced, no school in session, SAVED the lives of our people? We have had ONE death for a reason, the RULES. If you’re going to travel during a global pandemic when there is still very little information on the vaccine (we are phase 3 of the trial, come on, stop the whining people, we aren’t your testing ground), then follow the rules and stop complaining and hoping they change. If you want to go on vacation with no restrictions, take your money and attitude elsewhere (Mexico is great). We know we “need” tourism (my family works in it, but definitely wants out now that they’ve experienced people not caring and yelling at them for asking visitors to just wear a mask and getting an f-you in response), but we also have made serious sacrifices to save lives. Our own people (the majority, anyway) aren’t even traveling inter-island. So, if you’re going to come here, follow the rule and be humble that you’re even being allowed in. Just because someone has come here off and on for 30 years or just once, it is still OUR HOME. This feeling has been bubbling long before Covid. Be grateful to even come and follow the rules. Mahalo!

          1. Michelle and Barbara…I felt the same! Chastising people who express a “hope” that things would get back to normal is NOT putting anyone in harm’s way. Have we not all said that we wish things would change? Lani, I am thankful that we have people who still have hope, and are not spreading gloom and doom. I’m betting you are too.

      1. Lani, I hope everyone reads your post!!! I fully understand and support your position. Personally I continue to favor the PCR Test not older than 72 hours and I do not support the demands by vaccinated people. They still can contract the virus and can infect others. All the vaccine does is keep you out of the hospital if you get infected by the virus. I am pretty sure that all who got the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine need a booster shot, too.

        1. GERHARD… It was announced today that the vaccines protect you 80%-90% from getting the virus. If you can’t get the virus, you can’t infect others! You need to keep on top of the CDC’s reporting or your posts can be providing outdated information

          1. Barbara. You need to actually read the CDC guidance on vaccinated individuals. This from March 23:

“COVID-19 vaccines are effective at protecting you from getting SICK (my emphasis). Based on what we know about COVID-19 vaccines, people who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic.

We’re still learning how vaccines will affect the spread of COVID-19. After you’ve been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you should keep taking precautions in public places like wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces until we know more.

          2. James B… I’m just quoting what was on the news today, March 29, so it appears your news may be 6 days in arrears. Besides… this is a site regarding travel to Hawaii NOT (my emphasis) a debate site regarding covid vaccination!

          3. Then Barbara, you should read your news more carefully. Indeed the new study was heartening, but there were enough qualifiers (unsure about variants, transmission between vaxed people, etc.) to clog a vacuum cleaner. Social distance, avoid crowds, masks were still indicated. Also this was a single study of medical professionals.

oh, if you want to keep ones comments to travel, then it seems curious that you brought up the partial truth post about the study.

          4. Also unvaccinated people are 99.98% survival rate if they contact the virus. People get sick all the time and will for the rest of time.

          5. Absolutely unproven. This is just an attempt by the State to get people vaccinated, esp. the hesitant ones.

        2. Gerhard, not sure where your information is coming from on the vaccines and if you have a medical background. I’m including a link with good information about how the vaccines work.

It is a personal choice whether you want to get a vaccine or not, but it is also important that people understand how the vaccines work.

      2. Thank you for explaining what the people of Kaua’i feel. People that don’t wear a mask or wear it on their chin need to stay home or as you said go to Mexico where anything goes and the poor workers there pay the price. Keep Kaua’i and the Hawaiian Islands safe.

      3. @Lani.
When we visit Hawaii, or anywhere for that matter, we are guests. We teach our kids the same since we have been visiting for years now since they were young.

It just irks me that people can be so selfish, ignorant or love to be so anti-establishment, that they feel they have the right to endanger others. These people should just stay home and leave the rest of us alone.

See you guys very soon ! Aloha

  9. As long as Common Pass or other vaccines passports doesn’t become overly complicated, I think it will work.
    Aloha Guys
