Southern California doesn’t see the best airfares to Hawaii. Typically $500. San Diego might be cheaper. Late summer prices might occur anytime from April on.

I am taking my two girls to Honolulu from June 11-18 2016, our hotel package is paid for already. We live in Colorado, my oldest would be flying out of Denver, but I will be traveling to San Diego with my youngest to attend a graduation. I have been looking at flights since June 2015, I don’t want to miss my best opportunity to buy. What would be my buying price from both locations, Denver and San Diego?

About $800 and $1100. A little cheaper with long delays. That is peak season travel.
You can talk with a travel agent or do it yourself. Travel agents get no discounts and operate on a fee basis.

If you fly from OAK there is a $485 airfare to Honolulu on Alaska. 7/15-7/22. That’s a steal. Otherwise prices are moderate due to the intense competition from the bay area.
