  1. You both are my go to persons for knowledge about everything Hawaii. We are now empty nesters. We’re also Disney Vacation Club members. Aulani is simply stunning. It is a resort that does cater to families but we’ve been there 4X’s & have thoroughly enjoyed it. We tend to go in September or May so not as crowded. My suggestion is to go during those months & enjoy the resort. You maybe pleasantly surprised.

  2. We have stayed at Aulani and absolutely loved it! The attention to detail abs research that went into developing it can’t be beat. The dreamy location is close enough to enjoy things in busier areas (Waikiki) after a 20 minute drive without having to stay in that madness. To us, Skyscrapers are not what we want as part of our Hawaiian vacation. We already loved the Ko Olina area, so staying at Aulani was the icing on the cake! As a Disney specialist travel planner, most of my clients dream of staying at Aulani and rightly so!

  3. Save your time and money, the locals don’t
want you there anyway. Not much Aloha anymore.
I own in Hawaii and would go 2 to 3 times a year,
not anymore. I’ll visit the Mexican Riviera instead
    where my money is appreciated.

  4. If you can snag a deal and can afford it then go for it! It’s a spectacular resort with plenty of fun activities for the kids. There are a few beautiful pools as well as a great beach and snorkeling area. If you’re looking to avoid the hubbub of Waikiki this is your place. But be aware, it is far from many other Oahu activities. Also restaurants are expensive and limited within the resort. We are Vacation Club members so those villas have kitchens which is a big plus!

If it’s still available this is the Aulani deal I booked by chance on Costco Travel 2 weeks ago for our trip in October.

Costco Travel: Fall Resort Credit Promotion

    4 Night Reservation
    Standard-View Room

    USD 138 Costco Shop Card
    USD 150 resort credit
    USD 300 Instant Savings applied

    $1,747.48

    That’s a great value.

Like I’ve posted in the past on several trips we’ve enjoyed Ocean View, but now it’s more about value. Plus I booked another amazing deal through Costco for the second half of our trip for an Ocean view room on Waikiki Beach. Our last trip to BI was pretty quiet this trip we want to party and shop.

    1. Good luck finding the discount at least thru Halloween. Everything booked already. It seems that Aulani did not make available as many rooms as years past for the special, or limited the rooms this year. Have used the discount pre-pandemic on any type of room. Never had a problem getting the discount until this year.
