  1. Hello! We are looking to fly from SFO to OGG towards the end of July. Should we continue waiting for a drop in tickets or are prices going to remain the same ($800ish)?
    Thank you!

  2. Hey!
I’m looking to fly from Honolulu to LAX within the last two weekend of April. I had just missed the sale in January and was wondering if there was gonna be another sale in February? Should I hold out and wait or just purchase tickets since a sale is unlikely?

    Thank you so much!!

  3. Hi,
I’m looking to fly out to Maui from Seattle 9/21-9/28. Do you think I should buy the tickets now? If not, when is the a good time to buy?

    Thanks!

    1. Hi Emily,

$448. Definitely a fair price. It might get a little better if you wait. No one knows when a better price might happen, but availability won’t be an issue so it is fine to hold out for now. Target is under $400 if that helps.

      Aloha.

  4. We are planning trip to Honolulu in fall Sept/Oct timeframe, looking to coordinate best flights to Honolulu and best rates for a 7 day cruise of the islands. Should we book now or will we see better rates come spring/summer for flights and cruise. We would be flying out of Tampa and not sure if it is better to get to Hawaii from Dallas or LAX?

    1. Hi Debi,

Intermediary stopovers without a real stopover where you are staying somewhere are generally problematic so not recommended.

Yes prices for flights will come down for September/October. Cruises may as well. Suggest competitively shopping cruise prices between brokers as they can vary quite a lot. BTW, that is a really enjoyable cruise!

      Aloha.

  5. LAX to KOA June 20- July 5th. Do you think the prices will drop or continue to rise? When do you feel is the best time to buy? Thank you!!!!

  6. Hi,
We are planning to visit Maui from Detroit, Michigan in the first week of May , possibly may 1 to 7. It’s increased from 745 to 775 in the past week. Could we wait for another month? Please advice.

    1. Hi Maddy,

Best to be expected is low to mid $700’s. Your Saturday return is causing a higher price. Sunday is better by $15 and Monday is better by $35. For your dates it may well not improve.

      Aloha.

  7. Looking to fly San Diego to Honolulu round trip July 5th-12th. Do you think I should go ahead and buy now or do you think there might be a lower price coming? Right now, HA is $764 round trip and Alaska is at $608. Much prefer HA but I have only seen their prices go up in the past couple of months.

  8. Hi,

We are planning on going to Oahu from March 26- April 1st (6 adults + 2 toddlers under 2yrs). It’s a bunch of us so looking for good/cheap air tickets. Can you recommend any good deals out there or should we wait?

    Mahalo 🙂

    1. HI CalGirl,

That’s the peak of spring break. No advantage to waiting unless something is left at the very last minute. And deals for that time period aren’t to be expected.

      Aloha.

  9. Just missed the big 169 sale from Virgina America. Do you expect this be offer again?

I’m traveling to Honolulu April 23-27 Hawaiian airline had rt for 398 however it’s gotten up since. I was waiting hoping it would have gone down. Did I make a mistake and not purchase it when it was 398? Flying from sjc=>Oahu thank you!

    1. Hi Liz,

Yes we certainly do expect to see that again. Do you get our email updates?

We should see more sales soon for your time frame, so hang in there.

      Aloha.

  10. Looking for good deals from San Antonio to Honolulu? any suggestions on where to search?

I’d like to go from 29 March to April 1 to Honolulu From San Antonio

    1. Hi Lauren,

For your dates, which are at the peak of spring break, best price and connection is $932 on United. That won’t improve.

Just FYI, there are some fares in the low $600’s on American in late April and May. They seem to have the best pricing at this point.

      Aloha.

  11. I need to travel to HNL from LAX on 5/20 night or 5/21 morning through 5/30. Is it advisable to book now for around $500 round trip or to wait it out?

    Thanks!
    Sean

    1. Hi Sean,

Suggest waiting a bit (up to a month or so). “Should” come down – potential for $100+ in savings.

      Aloha.
